Here is something I recently figured out that eliminates the need for longer front shock shafts or up travel stops to prevent dif cup breakage.

The Losi HD rod ends LOSA6044 for the 8B, 8T thread nicely onto the front shock shafts and if you lightly sand the end that would go into the spring cup they slide right in. The benefit is that they are considerably longer giving the needed added droop and eliminate the need for up traveler limiters!

I stumbled onto this after hitting a pipe and breaking the shock end. You will need to use the ball out of the original shock end for the mounting screw to fit so don't discard them.

PS that part also works as a captured end replacement for the linkage if you use OFNA 6mm steering collar part#30411 and M3x15mm flat head screws to secure them OFNA part#94021.

Why is there not much love for this sct or the ofna version? They are allot cheaper and lighter than losi or tekno can they not win?

Chris there definatly is love for this SC, if you read back through this thread you will see a lot of people love this truck. Out of the box it just needs a few things needing attention and details. No $$$ upgrades needed at all to be FAST.

What I mean by no love is this thread has been here since 7/12 and has been surpassed by the losi 2.0 thread in just 3 weeks. What needs adressed on the ts4 so one might add that in the price when comparing with tekno and losi 2.0?

The stuff needed is simple stuff like shock up travel limiting and in my experience hinge pins. Other then that out of the box it's an awesome truck. Team C just doesn't have the Common household name like Losi or Associated have. I beat losi and associated trucks every week, especially in the corners. I have had to play with setup to get the truck where I prefer it but am faster with it then I was my losi.

Yes little things like travel limiters on the front, or better yet, longer shock ends (slash), losi springs work better then stock, you need to shim the diffs tighter then manual says.
And of course it doesnt have the name or history like losi/ae but Team C makes a great product for such a new company.

I love my ts4 but it still lacks steering I've changed diff fluid , changed shock springs and still no off power steering to get it to turn you have to tap the break right now is the best its turned since I've had it I'm running 5/10/5 diff fluid and stock springs infront with 45wt AE oil and losi acre front silver springs on rear shocks with 35wt AE shock oil

This may be far fetched, but just popped in my head. The wheels have a specific offset, and I remember when my truck cornered the best I was using some practice tires that I used on my AE SC10 4x4 when I had it. I'm not saying this is a solution, but if you can find someone who will let you try a set it could give you what your looking for. I think the AE wheels narrow it up just a hair which may cause the quicker cornering.

Ive noticed that too.

So Ive done some diff tuning, and I find that 7-7-5 works best for me so far. Im running some fuel tubing to limit the front shock travel a bit, and Im currently testing a new turnbuckle setup. Bye bye ball cups, hello Associated Blue Ti RC8 steering rods. Ive also switched to 35wt shock oils and Im going to try some piston setups. I got a set of Kyosho 5 hole pistons, and a set of blanks.

I was using 7-7-3 in my diffs but just switched to 5-5-2 due to the high traction the track I've been racing has. I too have switched from ball cups when I built the truck. As far as shocks go, I now run the RcShox.com Dual stage pistons and love them. They really calm the truck down and allow you to run lighter oils and lower ride height without worry of chassis slap or fear of any lost performance. They are a great addition to the truck.

Took TQ today with the truck at round 7 of the GA Indoor Winter Series. I used some of the roll center plates from RcShox.com and man did they help my truck gain steering. I havent had my truck corner like this EVER. I also set the fastest lap for the class for today. Truck was extremely dialed.

4th in the first quilifier, TQed round 2, 5th in round 3. Started 3rd, finished 5th due to some hacking at the start and mid-way through. Ive found the truck to be MUCH MUCH more drivable by adding bladders to the shocks, TLR5089, while retaining the stock pistons and 32.5wt front and 35wt rear oils. I removed the tops and pladed the bladders in them, then replaced the caps on. Turn the shock upside down and unscrew the lower-end until you see the notch. Tilt your shock at approx 45* with the notch facing the top and slowly turn the shock body and not the lower-end until just before the o-ring. Slowly slide the shaft into the shock. You shoud have oil coming out from the notch. When fully compressed finish tightening the lower-end assembly.

Did this and it made a huge difference. The truck wasnt so bouncy, and seemed more planted. Other than this, it still has the box settings.

Which dual stages are you using from rcshox? I bought the UFO's considering dual stage. I see Marcus just put "new" 2-hole one out.
