Info:

Some spring information:
"The more lazer etching marks, the softer the spring.

The stock Big Bore springs are considered Mediums, but they are not marked. When you buy stock replacements, such as the TU0250F/R, you will then see double etch marks on both ends, indicating "Medium" rate. The options available are the single etch marked Hards, and the triple-etch marked Softs.

The current set of Big Bore springs were all originally designed for the front and rear of the TC02 buggy and TC02T stadium truck. Therefore, when setting up an SCT, it has been best to use long (rears) in the front, with or without the little helper springs, depending on chassis weight/bias."

Some info here:
To get more droop, traxxas slash 4x4 front TiNi shafts add 2mm more droop part# 1664T
Also, traxxas 39mm aluminum links work for the steering and front camber links, and the 59mm links work well for the rear.

can you run saddles in the normal config (side by side... not 'in-line') ?

MantisWorx 07-19-2012 11:16 AM

They will fit in the slot but you would need a custom hold down made. In the future i may play with a dual shorty setup since the truck is so light.

Exactly how light is light? I.e. race ready w/ body?

And, is it an illusion in the picture or does the rear driveshaft really connect at that angle?

yeah it looks like it would almost be 53f/47r balance with a stick pack in there.

it looks like it would take ALOT of playing to get a dual shorty setup in there tho.

Without the body it is 4lbs 14 1/2oz,5.4lbs with body.

rear driveshaft is at an angle to clear the battery, just like the Durango DESC, which my last truck and that is never an issue. They are CV joints just like the what drives the wheels only stationary.

I havent scaled it yet but will within the next few days.

I own RCShox, so making a shorty kit will not be an issue!! i have my own CNC machine shop:sneaky: I already have it mapped out!

I like the balance up front. Servo ESC compensating the motor. The things gonna roll much though which that much overhang on the sides. Let us know how you like it compared to the others.

Looking good. Can't wait to see these hit the track and see how they stack up against the others.

mdwalsh 07-19-2012 12:10 PM

Oh man! I can't wait to get mine together and racing!
