Turnigy now has the A-SPEC nanotech 6.2 which are the REAL deal. These batteries are actually lighter, feel stronger (carbon wrap), and have A LOT more punch. On the straight, a couple other racers were amazed on the speed of my truck.... tried my old nano's and it wasn't the same.

Just saying.....
Thanks for your real-world experiences. I use the nanotech 6.6's myself, but not for racing, and I'm not that good a driver to keep the pace on lap after lap, and my outdoor track is medium sized and flows well, so all of these factors mean I'm probably not straining the whole system too much.

I've been watching UltimateRC's recent reviews on the nanotech series and his initial findings seeme to be that the A-spec wasn't that much better than the 6.0's, and the 6.6's weren't that much better than the 6.0's either.

Anyway, food for thought for those weighing these things up.

My friend has the same truck and an sc411 4600 and we are about equal on the straight with my sc401 4600. Same motor just 411 is sensored = smoother startup.

so i noticed that my center diff was wobbling when i gave the truck gas. i pulled the diff out figuring the bearing was bad. looked at the bearings and they r fine. while looking at the diff i noticed that the outdrive seemed loose in the case. do the out wear to the point that it would make the diff wobble. i know they wear were the shaft goes in.

One more thing to check if you still have the diff apart. If you have a micrometer check the centering of the hole in the outdrive insert. I find the whole to be way off when I have a bad wobble. I've finaly found a set that are perfectly centered and I have zero wobble and I'm going on 40 packs now.

Also as a testament to how good/popular this truck is, this thread is the largest on rctech (last time I looked).

Oh and Ryan.....where's the new part you've been testing? The one that we all want and have been waiting for

I have yet to puff either a gens ace or nanotech with the sc401 4000kv geared at 14 teeth and I run them to cut off all the time and hammer on it.

I for one want an overdrive ring gear just like the TLR3510 is for the 8ight. That made huge improvement in handling on power on large, low to med bite dusty tracks.

Can you guys help me out Ive been having problems with my week old scte! I got the RTR installed a cc bec along with traxxas connectors set it to 6v cutoff is 3.5v updated to the new beta for the mmp. I raced all night sat placed 6th out of 22 and had no problems. I took my truck to the track today and ran it in the parking lot to make sure the steering was good and it cut out on me halfway across the parking lot. I still had steering and it seemed like the esc was still on, as I started walking closer pressing the throttle it would go n stop really slow. Checked all the connections, changed batteries in the reciever as well as the truck and the truck still cuts out no more then 2 houses down going down the sidewalk.

Can someone please help, I thought installing the bec would prevent these type of problems.

My gf got the same truck on the same day hers has been fine without the bec, becides for cutting out once today at the track.

Is it the spektrum reciever? Thats the only thing I can think of at this point, unless I did a poor solder job.

Check your solder joints. Might have a bad one and the esc is seeing low battery voltage and going into cutoff. Or maybe bump the voltage on the external bec. Might be an issue with the spektrum radio. Try bumping it to 6.5v.
