frank said that the 22t 4.0 was holiday related, and not stock clearance.
You could 5.0 with new steering, and gen3 shocks.

No, the 22T 4.0 will be the truck for TLR for at least a year. I'd suggest picking one up during this sale.
mes, StadiumRC, RazorRC and 1 others like this.

There can be only one reply to that question:
TLR is not done with racing stadium trucks and is always working on something.

The sale price is great, I am seriously considering getting back into rc with one of these (and a Mini T 2.0 for easy fun). If I purchase a kit is there anything you would recommend right away that I may need, or will I be good to go just building out of the box and starting from scratch? I’m going to have to start over again anyway as I sold or gave away most of my rc stash. Thanks.

I'd just start with kit and have fun. Once you start to get a good feel, you can tune from there.

Did anybody get the kit for that price of $229? It’s not available anymore. Heard it was an error? Or just a sale for a couple days?

Not an error. Frank Root(works for TLR) has stated recently in this thread it was just a holiday sale. No there is not a 5.0 coming out for at least a year. All that said I have one waiting on me at my LHS at the low price. It was too good of a deal to pass up considering I don't have a stadium truck and I'm getting back into the hobby.

Sale was legit, but only offered for a limited time.

My Xray XT2 (4.9mm) ball stud trial on the outer steering arms held up just fine after 2 practice sessions and 3 rounds of racing. It wasn't too tight and felt good. I didn't run much better than i normally do but atleast I finished every round of racing. I did have a batt. post wire come apart in practice but it wasn't a very good solder job anyway.

Wait, wait, wait... “At least a year...” - From TODAY, or from its ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE?!

Even the simplest of statements can be turned into a conspiracy, hehe.

I believe some hobby shops are still offering it at that price. I'd suggest looking around, you might be able to pick one up at that price still.
