Gearing and turbo boost is more of a factor for topspeed I agree. But I am looking for pure acceleration actually. I want to push it to the limit just before wheelspin. Any pointers?

Any recommendation for gearing a x12 13.5 for boosted TC?

I run at a track with a 35m straight along with a Tekin RS-Pro.

Also, what motor temp am I aiming to keep the motor under?

Thanks

How is the rest of the track??
tech?flowing?
We need a bit more from you.
Don't get the X12 above 65 degrees and use the stock timing insert.
Starting point for the gearing is 7.5 to 8 and work your way from there.
Temp motor every 3 minutes and if cold, gear up a bit.

regards Roy

I use the 4 dot insert with the lowest mechanical timing.

I heard from others that LRP usually runs hotter than other motors and can be pushed up to 100 degrees? or is that due to incorrect settings?

I am currently running 35 boost + 10 turbo on FDR of 6.5 - temp after 6 minutes at about 75 degrees

cheers

I was running 21.5 on sunday at TFTR. Was running 46 degrees timing on the motor, 5.1 FDR, SSX Stock Spec setting 3,0,10,0 and I was thermalling after 5 laps. Temp gun readings on the motor were well over 90 degrees C.

Yes it was too hot for those settings

Yes. It was a good lesson. Needless to say, I've turned down the timing and changed the gearing since Sunday

Take it apart and blow it down with compressed air, then detail with a dry toothbrush to get any stubborn dirt, clean and re-lube the bearings, then reassemble. Start to finish, 10 minutes.

The coating on the motor windings isn't always epoxy, sometimes it's lacquer based, and some motor sprays and carb or brake cleaners will eat or degrade that coating on the windings, so be careful what you spray in a motor. I've seen bad things happen to good motors with guys spraying stuff that was safe for brushed motors into the current crop of brushless ones.

I know for sure that electrical contact cleaner (red spray can from autozone, pep boys, wal mart, etc) is safe. If you must spray any liquid into a motor, use sparingly! Then clean more often!

Default 12.45mm std rotor versus 12.5mm

I'm running the X12 17.5 in a Hotbodies D4. i've kinda found the sweet spot with the gearing running a regular 60 degrees C(about 130F) previous geraing at about 5.6FDR was above 70 degrees the but X12 really losses punch for off road jumping.

Another racer told me the 12.5mm rotor is worth getting to 'tune it up' like the HT rotors for Tekin and Trinity D3.

in this forum recers say that only the 13mm rotor is worth it but it's not legal
http://www.lrp.cc/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7592

in this ad it says the motor comes with a 12.5mm and then it says 12.45mm
http://www.lrp.cc/en/products/electr...-175t/details/

is it worth buying the Part. no.: 50633X12 12.5mm Sintered Rotor for 0.05 of a mm I would think it would not be worth it.

The 0.2mm rotor for the Trinity D3 does make a difference apparently

any thoughts? thanks
