Yeah, So what if I cant compete in TCS? There are other races that would gladly accept me with my clone anyway.

I am having tons of fun with my 416we(C) as much as the folks who owns the ORIGINAL 416WE if not more as I am not too worried of the boards that much

Therefore all you "ad hominems" go to your original 416 threads and let us have fun with our "bettles"

However, if the 416 is as good as everyone says it is then its flattering to the original design that it is being copied. Isn't the TC5 a copy of the Xray? I just saw the new Top Racing Photon, a blatant copy of an Xray also! For those griping about the knockoff, GET OVER IT!!

Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Isn't a poor man's Porsche a Beetle? A poor man's Vette a Camaro? People afford what they can and deal with whatever shorcomings with their own skills and ingenuity to make up for what they lacked in funds. That's what this hobby is about. Not some rich boy's toy club, which by the way is killing the hobby.

I once saw some kid 20years ago beat everyone in the A-main at Hot Trax in Huntington Beach in 4wd offroad using a Beagle. At the time the Beagle was a cheap Taiwanese knock-off of the Kyosho Optima. That kid was able to take that kit's shortcomings and build it and drive it to be a race winner. This is what this hobby should be.

You RC snobs just make me SICK!
I think if this model is not being advertised as "CHINA" (people take it personal)
I do not think this thread will be so long...
People have different budget; so they can afford within their spending limit...

If you hate made in China, buy USA made only..
And see honestly what you can find and truly afford..

Examples:
Iphone...
Brake pads for your car...
My Canon Xti
My IBM notebook....

RC car is a RC car; we all people come together and have fun together...thats it....we should not care what they drive or so...

I have one and can verify by looking at the shock tops, the rear end top plate is incorrectly copied, and the velcro strapping that comes with the car.

between the rear bulkhead and motor mount (top carbon deck should be two pieces. the last four screws are supposed to be on a seperate carbon 'U' plate. it makes it easier to remove the spur gear and shaft. it's not a big deal, you just have to remove 12 screws instead of 8.

Looking at the Tamiya 42138 manual , I see one top plate with 12 screws....or am I looking at the wrong piece (part 4004065 , BK4)

This Chinese version is a copy of the Worlds Edition TRF416 which uses a one piece full length upper deck, you are comparing this car to the orginal TRF416 which uses a two piece upper deck.

long time ago.
i have experience on tamiya clone that previously build
such TL01 rtr for 18$
i think 80% is a waste on this rtr.
i would throw useless transmitter and speedo.
replace almost everyting but chassic and arm and some gear
i have to replace the planetary gear.
any of the material was verry disapointed crack able,
since it was planned for toys.
because it was planned to run on 540 can, without parts replacement suppplied by the factory.
Big disapointed, better use mchassis

and i think http://www.toptoys.cn/en/
was the same
i guess they were plan to run on 20C only,
as the name was toptoys, they were plan for toys, not racing.

there is no prove that this TK416 is race able for mod's yet,

as a tester i would pay
TK416 for 50$ or less
and must be parts supported supplied.
and as clone it should be compatible to all 416 tamiya factory.

other reason not to to buy, i could not trust china,
will stay with this kit for long term.
unless there is video to show :
crash test.
race test.
40C test.
2.5t test for 15 minutes on race circuit.
worn out test.

remember i have been there testing between tamiya tl01 with china tl01.
and china tl01 is very disapointed on cost and quality.

.
