Hi Martin

i have a gm90 and i can't get the esc to work with a 1s lipo, i have plugged it in and the esc starts up ok, i hear the bleeps but then i have no throttle at all, i have tried all my brand new lipos and also i have tried three different motors and it still does not work. I have plugged in my 4cell nimh and all works ok.

i am running mode 2 with voltage cutoff at 2.3v if that helps.

regards

Steve

Go to page 72 and read what you should do for 1S lipo racing.

I have recently purchased a GM 120 speedo v7.2 and am running mode 8 with a novak ss 13.5 motor, Off load (Ie no pinion attached) it does not seem all that fast when comparing it to my Nosram spec speedo with the same motor, I have read on some websites that there should be a speed jump at full throttle however mine does not seem to do this, I have a Futaba 4pk transmitter with 100% set on throttle and brakes is there something I am missing?

Martins program definitely gets it close to revving as hard as a stock spec
LRP or Nosram speed controller..!

the difference being, you can boost the bottom end on a GM, where as you cannot with the others.

my motor seemed to get a bit hot when using Martins program,
so i just lowered the start amp a bit and couple of other bits.. still revs hard
and is almost as quick out of the corners, but isnt running as hot now. excellent!

( i expect it was more my driving style that got it hot! ?? )

Hi, I have been running sensirless on this esc for a while now in mod and the esc had worked perfect. Tonight tho I put my gm 10.5 in and put martins setup on the esc. When on anything above mode6 the motor sounded dreadfully ratteley in middle revs Which seemed very strange. Something to do with the advanced timing. This same motor ran fine in my pearl without the I'll noise. It sounds like it could be the rotor but it doesn't do the noise when running sensirless or below mode 6. This noise is with and without pinion. I have tried an esc re set and tht didn't solve it! I'm stuck.

The Sound is normal As the Motor gets overtimed if there's no load applied I.e. Car is not on the track

hey martin i sent you an email the other day but im not sure if you got it so i will just post my question here. I was wondering if you had a copy of marc fischers speedo settings from the 1/12th euros in holland? If not can you advise a good starting setup for 10.5 with firmware 4.8. I have seen you advice to use the stock how to settings but would you advise a mode 6 or mode 8 copy and are there any other tweaks you would advise. Thanks

Hi Cam, yep you need to send it off to GM in Germany. 3 mates and I have just done this, took about 2-3 weeks and cost 44 euro's (for 4 esc's).

Hi I was wondering is the 7T delta safe to use with lipo and GM120?

For the 6T they don't quote power for 7.2v so I'm assuming its way too much.

I drive TC rubber carpet 10.5 lipo but will try outdoors next year also.

Never used anything faster than 10.5 but would like to frighten myself. I would like to improve my technique.

I have found 13.5 has helped my skill when I go back to 10.5.

When I see the mod drivers I understand they have a lot of skill to drive cars this aggressive and maintain high corner speed.

7T is about the max you should use ... I really doubt anything faster will improve laptimes
