I really cant make up my mind between the GM 120 7.4 or the Tekin rs pro. I like the look of both, I see tekin now has a turbo delay that will allow the turbo to kick in later so more top end speed. Does the Gm 120 have any thing like a turbo function ? I run 13.5 maybe 10.5 what function other than adjustable timing does the 120 have that will benefit a 13.5 motor.

Actually it was Ralf Helbing from GM that invented the turbo function many years ago, so Yes thats included. GM speedos where the first where You could control amp limit without loosing top speed

i'm going to be running the gm90 with a 4.5t and a 1s lipo for the first time at the weekend, now i've just got a Novak voltage booster to run and i noticed in the instructions it stated that the speedo has to be left turned off. So what do i do with the speedo that has no on/off switch????????

1. Do i just plug it all in and run it as normal?
2. Do i remove the red + wire from the Rx speedo plug
3.???????


Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Steve!

If you do not turn ON ESC it will be not working

I know some info from Ralf that we should not cut off red wire, because
ESC need some power delivered from RX (some small nimh batt connected
to BEC at RX).

With novak I don't have experience (I wait for this item). I think it should workinig like manual said, connect wires to 1S lipo, plug it to RX to BEC and try. I have hope nothing burned off :-)

ps: I do tests with spektrum pro receiver 3001 with small batt 2S lipo 250mAh connected to BEC and my GM ESC work with 1S lipo

i drive with the GM 120 2de generation and the 13.5 team ptit'yo. It's the must! i have programed my speed controller with Julien Galineau ( official ). It's more easy...

Hi Martin!

Now I'm after some test with upgraded 95 to new software. There is too much options to play
However, I set by tx mode 3, put yous setup posted some pages ago, unclick temp cut off and send it to esc. I lost 'bip' option... Is this normal? In resserved1, when new box open, 'bip' and 'sound' options are aktivated... WTF is going on?

Have you got this? Now I don't know where am I with speedo... Everything working nice on table but esc doesn't inform by 'bip', doesn't made any sound..., if I do factory reset everything is ok

Older software was a little smarter

Btw can you post setup for 9.5t@5cell? Maybe you have file for new software? We still in Poland drive on this.

reserved2 has nothing to do with beeps

I always disable beeps

it's unnecessary as I know I don't make any mistakes

if you want them to be on, set reserved 1 to 128

Hi Martin, you got right!

But next question is, if I go to Special Settings, and change anyone level
on left side, Reserved1 always change to 254 and "bip" get lost ;-)
Hm, when 128 is set -> only one box 128 is checked, if I change something (for example) Timing2, change to 254, almost all boxes checked and some special --- 16, 32, 64 what is this?

Maybe I should always set it to 128 and know by "bip" where I am now ?
Some bug in 1.3.6 software or feature?

I think better and faster solution is prepare some gda files and only put them
to esc without "magics" done by "levels"

ps2: modified file from your setup to 5 cell, maybe is ok, can you look at this?

I tell you now what I tell everybody else ....

just leave the special settings alone and don't change what you have no clue off ...

it's far too complicated so just leave it as it is

for 9.5/5cell the setup you have now doesn't work as the 9.5 will definately blow up

just use FACTORY set mode 7

that's it with 7.2

Heh, for me it does not explain WHY I should not touch this settings in 1.3.6.
I know that it is some feature for new engines which will be developed
in the future, and when they came real thing, maybe this settings help a lot to performance. I know this from Kajman and Ralf H. Some shit should not be changed and left as oryginal.

hehhe mode 7 from new soft for me is not ok no risk no fun

I look to my saved datas from esc with 4.9 firmware, with mode 6 to 3,
difference is simple:
Reserved (old software has another value, new one need 88 for special features)
Reserved1 (bip problem, need set for 128 before push to esc)
SwitchStartMode=150 (about 16k rpm)

DelayTimeComp=15 (old one, don't get point what is do)
DelayTimeComp=16 (new one)
AktiveDiodeMaxDiff=300 (some shit, left as is)
AktiveDiodeMaxTime=110 (timing 1)
AktiveDiodeMinTime=90 (timing 2)

Just look to this settins from new modes With this bottom for me work.
Timing=3
TimingWith=2

Now with my txt file my car sounds like OLD ESC, I hear when
special timing and all shit start working.

I think, you set only one time esc and drive on it but I want play with
ESC for best from the best performance. Set some modes at home and
only at track switch and choose which is better for me.

you asked for a 9.5 setup and mode 7 is for 9.5

it's the setting all the teamdrivers use 99% of time

there's enough risk if you just gear it hard enough ...

anyway next topic
