Mugen MTX-3
Check that all the pulley set screws are on the flat spots of the shaft. I had that happen a few times. You pick that car up and give the wheels a spin and it all looks good, but under load from the engine it just spins free. Loosen them all and tighten them up again w/a little blue locktite.

Also check the dogbones or universals. If you are missing one, that could cause it to veer.

Trouble! I can't figure out what could be wrong. Under initial acceleration, my MTX3 bolts to the right. It is undrivable. I checked the belts thinking that could be it. All good. Then I noticed that my rear differential was "oily", like it had leaked. Could this be it? I am planning a rebuild of the rear dif. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think there such a thing as maximum weight.
If anything - everyone else would be happy that you're over weight!

that is good to know becauase i thought that they were measuring max weight also. but you are right, it makes sense, max weight should not be an issue
that's what i thought
no max weight rule. just min weight at 1725g.
To ensure you dont go below this weight it is best to weigh the car with rims but no foam or very very worn full wheels.

tire diameter
what is the result of running smaller diameter tires up front?
and vice versa?

The car won't handle quite right with larger fronts. Besides that, most people find the rears wear faster, so you normally start with smaller fronts.
