i think in europe 19t should be the new 27t stock class then have 12t limit for racers who want it and then open mod ie no limit.
this would be a lot better in my personnal view.

I’m hoping someone here can help me out, I'm looking for rules and guidelines that JMRCA uses for there 23T motor specifications, any help here would be appreciated... I’m Particularly interested in these specs, max wire diameter, min wire length, max timing, compression welded comm tabs only or is braise and soldering permitted, are bushings only allowed, is there a max retail price like ROAR has set for our stock class… Thanks

I`ll be able to answer some of your questions ...but I`ll have to do some research on the other ones
timing is at 20 deg
they have compression welded comm tabs
Bushings only( Yokomo has some awesome low friction ones now)
max price is 4000 Yen
4 arm blanks are available
3mm 6 port(RPM BLANK)
3mm 3 port(TORQUE BLANK)

9mm comm(mid size)
7.6mm comm( small or STD comm )
7.6mm Spiral comm ..
epoxy balancing is leagal so is drilling
As far as the brushes go they "CAN NOT BE SOLDERED ON" eyeor ring terminals only...but you can use double shunt wires

It seems Like Sagami Micro has the Best deal since they make 90% of all the parts for the motors now..

mind if i get some more info off you?

i was told by a guy down here that the 23t motors dont mind heat, so he said that you can basically gear em up and up adn up... as long as the comm doesnt discolour???

he just said to not worry about the heat of the motor when it comes off the track, but rather just the colour of the comm and as long as its normal... your fine....


could you expand on this at all??? or is it correct

Yes .."SOME" 23T motors can stand prolonged heat...due to the magnets in them...Basically most of the ECHO Based Motors and a few Atlas ones... they are the ones with the 4mm core rotors also...but I would say if the motor gets above 90deg cels. it`s way to hot and there will be a noticeable power drop...
as far as gearing goes with thesemotors.. you can gear them buy laptime and temp.... 75-85deg is were I run mine at ..
but take some care when these things get hot!! I have seen some melt endbells..when over geared

it`s mostly personnal preferance..but 90% of the guys here in Japan Run the Stand Up brush..reason #1. Good overall power and similar power to a laydown motor. #2.NO DRAG BRAKE affect... (trust me try a yokomo LT and you`ll see what I mean )#3 amp draw is less to a degree..and for 8min heats you need some good run time batteries to moke time with most Laydown 23T motors.#4 more power can be madewith the standup brushed motors with a couple tricks with brush hood adjustment.

Dave,
I bought this Suer Real Stock Team TECTRO motor in Japan last fall and the track owner said it was very fast....it cost a little bit more too. It has a sagami endbell and laydown brushes. Have you tested these and are they any good? What's a good gear ratio for a large track?

the TECTRO Motor is very good......but they have been band from JMRCA due to Tweeked comms and the timing is a bit more than 24 deg...but they do have all of the nice bells and whistles..The Fan at the end of the Arm is a nice feature that the new KAWADA motors now use with there black rotor and the TECTRO Rotors are the new 3mm core ones also, now for gearing the Motor...it depends on what version you have ...Torque ver. or RPM ver.
Torque ver. 5.4~5.6 large track maybe around 5.2 if your track is huge
RPM ver. 5.6~5.9 same size track
