I twisted one the most while using a 17.5 motor(boosted). The other 2 that I twisted weren't quite as bad even though I was using a 4.5. I might not have noticed the last one that did it, but I've been looking out for it closely now.

Both of my cars get a fair bit of use. Usually 2 race days each week. Including practice, they each get around 400 laps or more every week, I'd guess.

I ran it on a few testing days two weeks before the nationals and on the race itself. I didn't run the car after that, because of lack of free time and the fact the next race is in one month. All together about 20-25 batteries, and in that period I had the problem with the loosened pins (which was easily solved by flattening them- P.S. flat spot pins were included in the kit 8 years ago!), a snapped rear belt, and now the driveshafts (which I discovered today after maintaining the motor and connecting it to see if everything works- then I notices the 52mm shaft is bent) - not something I would expect from a company like Xray. I run 10,5T Super Stock with boosted racing basically as far as it goes- with temperatures around 85-95 degrees Celsius

Default Ball Diff for the T3 2012

I would like to try a ball diff in my T3 12. I have a ball diff from my old T2 009 but it has a 34 tooth pulley. I do have a 38 tooth pulley but Im not sure its the right one. Can some one tell me a part number for the correct 38 tooth diff pulley. Thanks

I've bent (twisted) all the spring steel shafts on both of my T3 12's. Running 17.5 blinky and 13.5 boosted on carpet with composite outdrives. No major wrecks or anything, just get a little greedy on a corner now and then, tag a board and bend a shaft. Had to use a 50mm set while waiting on parts but they don't sit deep enought in the compsite cup and I broke a couple of the outdrives. We run the CRC track system and it's pretty solid but, I've had many Xrays and never bent a shaft till the 12.

Anyone else had problems while using 50 mm driveshafts in front with composite outdrives? I would like an explanation for these driveshaft problems in general since I never had these problems with my other Xrays

I have bent one front & one rear 52mm 2012 drive shafts I run twice a week on high grip carpet about 6-8 packs a session, and I also noticed that the 50mm front shafts do break the plastic out drives much more often. The explanation I was told was how far they sit in the cup, & I am hitting with the wheels turned.

However the quality of this kit is the best I have ever owned, the plastic is strong & I am confident I can finish a race with this car.

I can only compare to the tc6 I started with, and I prefer the strength of the X-ray

Spec-r make the exact thing, the material they use will bend in a hard hit though.

What are the differences between the t3r and t3 12? I am looking at a t3r and then buying the Exotek xr3 upgrade. would that give me the same thing as a t3 12 running the Exotek xr3 upgrade (besides the cf towers).
Thanks

Is it true that 50mm wear the composite outdrives faster than 52mm's?

Pretty much. The 50's don't sit deep enough in the cup. Outdrives will break easier with 50's. Wear should be about the same.

T3R won't give you the east/west servo setup, you'll get steel turn buckles and I think just fiberglass towers and the old inner camber link mount setup. You'd have to buy a lot of parts besides the XR3 chassis to build up a 12.
