is novak going to produce brushless motors equivalent to 23t? i've heard that the 13.5 is not a stock27t but rather between 23 to 25 turns.

The challenge is in making a brushless motor "bad enough" to mimic a stock motor. They closely approximated the wattage output of a 27t stock but a brushed motor has brush drag and the efficiency drops with heat and the performance fades. Because the B/L motors are so much more efficient you don't dump the battery as far into the discharge/voltage curve either. From 2-3 minutes on a stock motor's performance drops in a way that an equivalent B/L never would. The answer is to abandon brushed stock all together. Brushless motors are much more difficult to tamper with and the performance is far more consistent from one to the next. This is way more "stock" than brushed stock ever was.

I am racing both Brushless and Brushed but was thinking of using the same speedo for both.

Has anyone found any difference between using a "conventional" brushed speedo (such as a KO VFS) and the Novak GBT in brushed mode?

Novak says the GTB is their best brushed speed control. I guess it's got even better stats in brushed mode than the GTX.

I was told today by Novak that sometime around mid-April. Did you know that the new 13.5 SS Pro version motors are already out? I just got one today w/ GTB esc from one of my local hobby shops for a killer deal
Now all I need to do is wait on the 10.5 SS

What's also weird is that on Novaks website, it's saying that the new 10.5 SS motor with the 'blue' timing ring (that you can't tamper with, the 13.5's timing ring is 'orange' ) is available....can anyone confirm this?

i need some help. i installed my GTB and 3.5R motor, did the one touch setup. the motor runs fine. sounds good and everything. the only thing is that on the Blue and Amber led's stay on permanently on the ESC. at neutral the Red LED stays on at full throttle the green comes on and at full brake the green flashes. all the while through this the blue and amber LED's stay on.

is this correct? if not what does it mean??

I think blue and amber mean that you have drag brake on, that is the standard setting on the profile 1. Thus is correct.
