The GTBs are rated down to 3.5 turn 540 Ballistic sensored motors and 4.5 turn Ballistic 550 motors.

do the old ss pro series motors have a temperature sensor like on the ballistics?
Useful for GM speedies with temp cut out!

All Novak motors since the original 4300 and 5800 versions feature a temperature sensor (blue wire). This motor temperature overload protection feature requires an esc that monitors motor temperature:

Thermal Overload Protection (Also referred to as Thermal Protection):

Thermal Overload Protection is a built-in sensor which shuts down the MOSFET(s) when its temperature exceeds a preset level. This circuitry provides protection from overloads. Dual-level protection cuts the throttle in half when the ESC temperature reaches unsafe levels. If the temperature continues to climb, it will shut down.
TeamNovak Glossary of Terms

Our Havoc 1S, 2S and 3S controllers feature this protection and are compatible only with motors featuring this temp sensor.
