Dinoguy woke up this morning with the new ConRod....... It Sang a new Song to me Today it went BG BG BG. It was too fast to get the lin in Bling. It likes alot more needle settings now and is sick fast. Now I Know STS power. Spending More time on Break in gets me less time Breaking .Very nice job Dino and Thank you again! Still not going for race settings it is very happy running at 220F-225F.My next step will be gearing for the tracks here. Does anyone know of some So Cal. tracks with Novice/Sportsman nitro classes running races this weekend?

Hi Dino,
I've finally got a STS D5 after hearing so many good feedback bout it, will be runnin in soon. Just a question here regarding the shimming, since its optimised for 25-30%, do i still need to add a 0.1mm shim when runnin in with 25% nitro?

Regards....

Mr. Sunny Hee sent his regards as well.

Mine seems to be craving lower gears for long straights.

Hi ruD,

Thanks for your support.
The D5 coming with total 0.5mm shims. It is optimized for 25-30% Nitro using. I suggest you to use low %(5-15%) nitro to break-in your engine. It will be good for conrod and crankpin. The D5 needs about 2L to break in.
Regards,

Dino

If you use 16T and 19T pinion gears, change them to 17T and 20T.If the top end is not enough,I will change gear first.

If you feel it work OK,that is fine.
Because this stock pipe is too long,so you will feel more less top end.

Most of people will lean the main needle when they feel the engine is not fast enough. And maybe damage their engine due to not enough lubricity. If you want more high end,I suggest you RD LOGIC #61250/61255

Dino, Thanks for reply.
I'll try avoid falling in to the lean out trap and look at getting new pipe.

"Done lean the main needle too much!"

I tested this engine on the weekend and compared to Nova NSR, it have just as good, if not better top end.
I was using a Nova 5TF but found lacked little bit of top, so I switched to a 6TF. The top end came alive right away (and kicked a lot of butt ) without lossing noticable torque

I used a 5m stinger and 25% nitro.
