Thanks for the input. How do you like the spool?

I guess the only difference between a spool and a one-way is that you have more off-power steering with the spool, but more on-power steering with the one-way? Or am I screwed up some where?

As for the Spool - Dicey hits it on the head (sorry madcap magician... have another brew!!)
The spool is going to push like a raped ape off power... and on power, you have a ton of steering.. While our track at SRS is by no means open.. the spool certainly did make on power turns fast... sweepers and chicanes were incredibly fast, but only if you are on power - the moment you get off the power, the steering goes away!
Another huge advantage of the spool is the incredible amount of braking.. this way - you can drive far deeper into a corner and still have the brakes to make a corner if the driver ahead of you leaves it open.

TimC - I would say that the jury is still out on the spool - I loved it in my stock car on carpet... in mod it was too unpredictable at speed (it was difficult to keep it going in a straight line on power) Was the car fast through the corner? oh yeah... but it wasn't as easy to drive as the losi normally is

the ones that come in the car are pretty good u just have to let them sit in some motor spray in a pill bottle for a few hours then use trinity royal oil or some type of synthetic oil and let them sit for a few min in them. if u need new bearings i would get boca bearing www.bocabearings.com there ceramic bearings are the best
hope i was of some help

my two cents worth on the spool of the XXX-S... it takes a huge toll on my drive train... better to have a one way... seems faster in the straights also...

what pistons and oil should i use on asphalt with a one way?
#5895
30 weight oil front and rear
#56 red shock piston
Red Springs front and back
* you've got to consider also the roll center, shock position and camber link position, start with the stock set-up and improve from there...
- hope this works for you...
