SC10 4x4 Thread
today was the first day I ran my truck without any major problems. I just wanted to finish I drove very conservative, it was a hard packed dusty track. I just wanted to finish without having any issues, well my hard work paid off, it was my first race in over 3 months and it did well. The things that made a difference, were getting rid of my homemade sway bars and went with the factory kit. I added 1.5 oz on the sides of the chassis in the slots and 2 oz on the rear shock tower. the truck felt planted. I hope marcus get these ackerman's figured out, my steering is wayyyy to twitchy.
25 wt oil around helped soaked up the bumps and grip nice, imo.
The truck rewards you with driving slower, I was able to take the turns sharper.
I met a young racer that had an AE 4x4 and he told me what the noise was with my truck, he said the rear diff needs shims or something. he said a lot of people had the same problem.
Is the problem fixed with shims or do I need a new rear diff altogether?
I want to try those JC Hazard Wheels. I can definitely see that Exotek chassis being very beneficial. Can't wait to get the chassis brace on, get pinned and send my truck to marcus to work his magic!
man those Losi's out there were tearing it up.
I ran here today, fun track http://www.rc-international-speedways.com/

While you all sit there and make mods, play with set-up, yadda, yadda, yadda, none of you have come to grips that the car is a basher only. I am an AE fanboy and know it is a POS when it comes to racing
I will not sell it as my 8yo loves it for playing in the yard but YOU will not be able to truly compete on a track with any mods. We are not the Ryan's and never will be. The Losi sucks too as you have to spend more money to upgrade the soft metal but it is so heavy and planted, we cannot compete unless you have a long main where you know the batts will dump on th Losi.
I suspect AE knows this as well. I am sure I will get flamed but it is the truth.
BTW, I post this knowing I have not had one issue that everyone else has had either. No slipping belt, no bent cvds, no warped a-arms. I do have the clutch basket though.
I will not buy a Losi though and would rather dump the class but will probably build an sc10 out of excess rc8 parts.

If the truck was junk, the "ryans" would not be able to win with them...if u can set the truck up, u can win...

I said the flames would begin and that is ok....time is on my side and I said I was going to build my own SC using the rc8 platform but with the worlds towers to LCG.
If you are having trouble with the truck its your fault. It allways isnt about the car it also comes down to the driver!
Coming from a guy who cannot see how many 'other' people are winning with this truck at a local level, sub-pro level, and Pro level who sees only the fact of his upset that 'he' himself cannot be a Ryan and thus must press it on others.
I can play the game too. Your invalid opinion and my question to the caring, savy people on this thread are two very unlike things. Let your kid bash that race truck, We'll continue to see these guys who 'personally' post here winning by a half a lap.
Coyote's Bottom Line: Jog on.

Like that hasn't been tried before. I hope you are just bashing your converted RC8. It will not be legal to race and it will be way more heavy than the Losi and you'll have to run 4s 8th scale electrics.

troll of the year award!
you should repost this in the losi thread, it would be a sh*t storm!
so far so good on the testing , been at the track all day today. it works very well. kinda hard to explain it, you dont lose steering(turning radius) but its not edgy it seems more consistent in that how ever you have it set it stays the same throughout the turn. this morning the track was loose so i put the links forward and got more bite, as the day went on and the track got looser i moved to the center and steering felt close to the same. i didnt clearance enough of the arms to go to the last hole which i think would have been even better!
i did mange to beat my best time with a 23.7 but that is not entirely due to the ACKbar, i have some other things in the works too!!

Quick questin for u guys...
My truck, on high speed straits comin into a 90 degree turn per say, the rear of the truck is loose, off the throtal, it will sometimes spin out it comes around so quick, and u can't get back in the throtal fast enuff to pull it out. What can I do to tightin up the back end?
My setup now:
27.5 rear 32.5 front shock oils,stock springs
5k rear 20k front diff oils
3-3 rear toe block
1 degree camber all the way around
Front is overdrivin
Slipper and clicker is locked down
Enduro's all around
Any tips?

Btw, Everything sucks if you can't win out of the box.

Edit: My Sarcasm knows no bounds!
