What do I look for?

Should I just replace them?

FWIW I run on a rough, loamy clay track with jumps, the truck does its fair share of rolling thanks to me LOL.

If you still have your overdrive pulleys unused, compare the used ones teeth with the overdrives'.

Due to skipping they might have worn to the point that the belt simply glides over the pulley instead of gripping the teeth.

On only minor bumps on mostly flat part before the lap counter, mine grabbed between the gear and tension and forced it into the most spectacular somersault you've ever seen. Brand new vehicle I literally built this week by the book. Not to say I'm perfect, but I've built two dozen or so kits over the years and am decently handy at putting them together right

i think i may have solved the belt issue, at least in my case. over the past few days i have been testing the slipper plates and the last few times i didnt bother putting the lower screws back on the gear cover. well i noticed that when you "bow" the chassis the rear part of the belt guide moves quite a bit to the right , enough that it twist the belt on the upper side. and i retightend the chassis screws that hold the rear section to the middle. between all of that the top cover berely moves anymore and should solve the problem, will see tomorrow.

I think I have to play with the tension settings. I think by adjusting them tighter makes it worse. My 1410 makes good torque, I think if the belt is too tight it will definitely skip, guess it needs some flex. I'll mess with it tomorrow maybe.

I run a 1410 too, standard pulleys.

My tensioners are set for 2nd spot in the rear drivetrain and 4th spot in the front drivetrain.

In the month I've had the truck, it only skipped the day I did the truck break-in, when the belt came a bit loose. Readjusted tension to above settings, and it has never ever skipped again.

Btw, I have an el-weirdo issue.

My rear drivetrain is making whistling noises in the side of the outdrives. You know, same noise that a dry bushing does. That kind of very high pitched noise.

I've disassembled the whole transmission unit, replaced grease inside the bearings, disassembled the differential, and no matter what, it still whines.


Any ideas?

After reading through this thread, I think I may be the luckiest man alive. I haven't had any of these problems except for the crappy slipper. I think I'll buy a lottery ticket and kiss a girl that's way out of my league. The stock X-rings work fine IF you shave just a hair off the spacer in the cartridge, no need to go and buy others. I'm running a Castle 1406 7700 4pole MMM at 13/93 and its and land missle.

Artikbot; clean and grease the CVAs on the axle side.

I am so happy, the castle 1410 3800kv motor is back in stock at Tower. Mine should ship out tomorrow. I've been waiting for over a month for this motor to get back in stock. So if you've been wanting one of these motors, they're back in stock, but for how long? Get them while they last.

Cleaned and greased with WD40. Still sqweeking.

Some CVD boots would be amazing because my track is rather dusty and grease turns into mud in 3-4 packs.

I use bicycle chain wax on mine.
