SC10 4x4 Thread
You should at least try the EXO so you can give an honest opinion on the two, i have tried both and the EXO is better!
I am biased on truck performance because the tracks i run on are large 1/8 scale tracks where the Losi excells. Indoors , from the nats a few weeks ago i can say that the Losi cant handle the AE for sure!
Last year, there was one track within an hour drive of my home. Today, there are eight in the same drive, nine if you count the sedan track I run at, one of them indoor. This AM, I got an email from the same solo outdoor club track (outdoor 1/8th scale) from a year ago saying that they needed a bunch of help else they were going to close down.
My primary action objective (to get this truck to work better outdoor) has been re-prioritized.

I've never had an issue with run time and we run a 12 min A. When I use a single stick pack it's a Max Amps 6500mha. I just thought that two shortys would be better for weight and balance. I already had the shortys because of my Losi 22t. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the $ and get the saddle packs and brace. Don't mind spending the bucks if it's really worth doing...

If the grip is medium to good, there are a lot of ways to successfully campaign and dominate this truck. If you have to run on a non grooved outdoor hardpack track (like we get for like six months out of the year in this part of California), or treat the throttle on the transmitter like a lightswitch (on, off, on, off), one of the shaft drive options will likely suit you better.
Anybody got a good setup for a clicker?
Guess that might make me a hard core RC racer.
Aw man I wish you hadn't said that! Your stuff looks pimp, but that's a deal killer right there.
A lot of the guys I race carpet oval with stopped stickering cars and doing custom paint because they didn't want the weight unless in improved the LH bias and it was at or near ride height. Black is the lightest color, you can do one and add about 3 grams total weight. Guess what color my oval car is.

First club race on hard packed dusty outdoor good flowing track(1/10 track) I set TQ by a lap and placed second in main to another AE. 12 trucks in all, 3 AE's, 3 Traxxas and the rest were all Losi's with the local fast guy wheeling the Losi. All with AE parts and used carbon c tab but installed it right side up for more adjustability. This truck will powerslide through the turns very well and keeps good corner speed. I could not be happier with this truck and I think I may have found a vehicle that fits my driving style. Kudos AE.

While I'm at it any tips or other things I should do???
Matt , good move ..
suggest trying the heavy duty pad on the ft drive ( 1st pad behind slipper)
The Ae VTS slipper & the new steering rack really improves feel & performance on the track ....
toss in the saddle conversion tray & new chassis brace and the Ae conversion becomes a killer deal also $$$$......

I am running the castle 3800 motor with the stock rtr esc and it has been fine. I am actually coming of about 20 degrees cooler on the esc after I switched to the castle motor.

The buggy is so much fun to drive. I had been away from my local track for about a month, showed back up w/ my sc104x4 and buggy. Never drove buggy on the track, I ended up a lap off my normal pace, 17laps, w/ the truck, but hit the 17 lap mark w/ the buggy. I was surprised, pleasantly...
Between my e-buggy, n-buggy and the 2wd buggy, my 2wd SC and 4x4 SC truck might have to find some new homes........
