How long do bearings usually last? My car has maybe 20 batts ran through it now and today seized a outdrive bearing. The other side bearing felt gritty. Also could someone tell me the easiest and correct way to remove these bearings they seem pretty stuck in place and do not want to come out.
My friend has a T2 ST and said he is on his original outdrive bearings. My kit was brand new a few months ago.
Did I just get unlucky?

have you tried using a hex driver to tap them out from the other side?

The big question is how to remove the Top shaft bearings since you cannot access the bearing from the outside on one half of the tranny case.
Anyway replacing all tranny bearing including idler gear bearings. Do not want this to happen again. Had I not noticed the problem right away I was heading for a motor melt down real fast.

all you need to do to the AE springs is use paint remover and strip them then when you set them up on the shocks you can turn them till they WON'T RUB .
I just did this to Mine and even Layed down the best Run I've Made So far @ My New Home Track .

Hey Guys, I have a question for you all.. I received some Blue FT front B4 axles in a parts lot, and when I went to try and mount them up, noticed they were like an 1/8 per side narrower then the std steel ones I have been using. So, which are right? I can shoot some pics if that will help

Mistake 1- Let my friend drive the b4.1, he smacked into a sct or vice versa and hit the concrete barrier broke the bulkhead.
Mistake 2- Decided to upgrade to SCTR aluminum bulkhead instead of the stock plastic one.
Mistake 3- There was a speed trap setup at the end of the front straight, so instead of watching the car, I was watching my speed (got up to 26mph!)..bang!!
The alum. bulkhead survived w/o a scratch, chassis didn't. I've since changed back to the plastic AE bulkhead, since alum. also added weight that messed up the jumps...

If they are 1/8 in narrower, you might have the T4 axles on the car. Other than that I dont know what it could be without pics.
The Blue alum axles are plain junk anyway, save yourself a DNF and dont put them on. Theres a really good reason ae now makes Ti and Steel front axles like those.
