with your truck.

I'm lost here, I can't figure out who this post is by? Are these ThunderBirdJunkie's thoughts or has some random person stolen his account?

#1 you put the washer under the wrong end of the spring.

Take your slipper spring off and look at the shaft. You will see the shaft
has a cone tapper just before the threads. Looking at this you will see the
spring retainer bottoms out against the cone before you can get max
tension against the slipper. So putting it at the wrong end as you did makes
the problem worse. The washer needs to be on the aluminum slipper plate
not the nut end.

So what I did was go to Ace Hardware in their nut and bolt department
they have a chrome & black chrome nut/bolt/washer section. There is a
chrome & black chrome washer there that fits the outer slipper hub
perfectly for shimming the spring. Take your outer slipper hub with you
because thanks to the chroming prosess some fit better then others.

Now you will keep your slipper spring free to put max tension against the
slipper pads instead of making the problem worse like you did by putting
the washer under the nut.

This works great, I have fixed many SC10 4x4 slippers at the tracks I race
at this way. At the track I don't have these washers with me but a quick
fix at the track is to take the blue aluminum servo arm retainer that most
people have laying around in their tool box and use that till you can get to
Ace Hardware to get the correct fitting washer.

Good luck, I hope this helps till AE gets this fixed along with everything else
they need to fix on the SC10 4x4....

BTW: AE if your listening, you need to make a longer & stronger slipper
spring for the SC10 4x4 (I'm sure you know this already though")

Hey Chuck,

Do you have a pic of the washer you used, or maybe a pic showing how you installed it.

Thanks

He always does it. I assume it's to get attention like we are giving him right now. Most of the time the comments regarding it are negative, but regardless it's still attention and kids will be kids.

Well, I have hadno problems with this truck whatsoever, but I hve had a hard time keeping my motor temps on my castle 1410 as low as I want them. So I ordered a 3racing heatsnk and fan from thetoyz. witha little work fro my dremel, it fits nice and clean.
Hereare some pics

Lol, nice
I'm thinking about the factory team shocks and they are $130 and probably still short. Maybe the shock end will come off unscrewed?

Sold my Ofna and am selling my Blitz to get this thing! Two questions, In the Hyper 10sc, i was running 12/46 gearing with a velineon and temped 140 avg. What gearing do i need to run if im using the stock 32p gear in my AE? Also, any better ETA of them being off back order?
(If anyone wants a blitz set up for 17.5 spec racing, lemme know)

Race it race it race it! I've been through about 20-25 5500mah packs on mine with some rough landings and hitting barriers, plus I've been run over by truggies in practice and I still haven't broken anything....

Thanks chuck 21 I get what you are saying and will be trying that tomorrow. I hope it works. Have you tryed drilling the hole in the spring retainer larger so it clears the shaft? It would save me a trip to the hardware store and 10 cents.

For those that live in socal and race at revelations in ontario what are some good tires to run at the track? I plan on bringing my sc10 there sometime next week but so far I've only raced on hard-packed clay tracks.......Also whats the best time to go during the week to where its not so crowded? Thanks in advance....

Default RS Pro

Has anyone used an RS Pro with a 550 can yet in the SC10 4x with any success? If so, what are your thoughts and opinions? I know the RX8 is probably the best option, but I have a RS Pro I just bought for a T4.1 that I’d like to use.
