Default Servo Issue

Hey guys,

So I just completed my build, went with the Savox 1258 TG servo. Noticed when I did the esc calibration on start up that the servo was not responding to the radio imput in that there was a delay from the servo to radio imput.

Recalibrated it a few times with same result. I turned down the steering speed on the radio which seemed to help quite a bit. I then took her out in the street for the intial run and discovered that there was a delay when I changed direction. Car would firstly go straight (neautral position) then go to the direction I want. It also has the tendency to just kind of loose all power for a quick second or so then go again, very frustrating. I'm hoping to get some help before I switch out the servo. Radio, Futaba 3PK, spektrum SR3001 receiver, Tekin RSPro esc, all taken out of my SC10 2WD.

Any advise??

Thanks

What pistons are you using in the Losi 8 shocks? I'm getting a full set of new Serpent shocks for my e-811, and picking up a used SC10 4x4 today. I might compare lengths and try the new Serpent shocks on the AE. Knowing your pistons, and the spring rates of Losi red springs will give me a good starting point. Thanks.

u need a compasitor. I had the same issue. the savox are power hungry servo's, and ur turning more parts with the 4wd than the 2wd wich is making it ask for more power.

Exclamation

I e been running on an 1/8 scale outdoor track. 180 ft back stretch. Tabletops 7 ft tall. Yesterday I ran the 1415 motor geared 93/25. Motor temp never got over 105. However I had this guy with a ofna sc truck that was just walking by me in the straights. One big issue I have is the truck nose diving. And on this big track, it can't be a complete front flip. I've tried everything. From playing with throttle before the jump and in the air. To heavier front shock oil and adjusting the springs. Not sure what else to do.

Have you tried some some push contol on your radio, that motor is very notchy, creating some break drag. Adjust your throttle endpoints so your tires while off the ground just start to roll.
Try this out.

Thanks for the input. You are right. The motor does produce some brake drag. Will make some changes.

Default Belt touching the rear inner belt cover

Just noticed that the belt is touching bottom part of the belt cover (that is part of the rear gearbox). I have installed the front and rear belt tensioner according to the manual. I can't find any way to adjust the bottom part of the belt. The only way would be to shave off a fraction of a mm of the inside of the rear inner belt cover. Is this normal or have I done something wrong? Any advice is appreciated.

So after a little more than 40 pack through the truck, I have noticed a reduction in run time, and the truck was making strange noises. Also my clicker started acting irratic and was disengaging even in forward motion.

I took it all apart and my 1410 had blown out the shaft bearing on the pinion side. I figure that is where the loss in run time is from, and it was also throwing off my gear mesh making it sound horrible. I pulled a bearing from an old burnt up 4600 castle motor I had and threw it back together and it's much smoother now.

So on to the clicker, I pulled it off and immediately noticed that the clicker was hard to get off the front top shaft... So I got it all apart and there was a little dirt/dust that had gotten in the clicker, and made it VERY tight on the shaft, I cleaned it up and put a little black grease on the clicker and the shaft and it slides MUCH easier now, I think that was all of my issues so far, 40+ battery packs and NO parts breakage.

Default Thanks Associated

Thanks for a great truck. I was able to run/race mine for the first time yesterday. It was good all day long. I built the truck with Chris' set-up with the thick front diff fluid. I didn't like it at first because it pushed during off power turn in. I didn't have time to change it so learned to drive it differently. I figured out I could throw it around a quite a bit to make up for that lack of turn in and still be consistent. It was super easy to drive without making mistakes. Happy camper here

For all you 540 haters out there... The Northwest Short Course Nationals was run this weekend in Pasco, WA and the two fastest trucks on the track was running 540 5.5 motors. TQ was a LRP motor and I ran Murfdogg. This was on a very large track with times in the 30 second range.

I qualified second and finished second. Ran zero timing on the RS Pro and -5 on the motor using a Murfdogg 5.5 geared 93/16. AND I had to dial my end pionts down another 15 points to keep the front wheels on the ground down the straight. I do have a fan mounted but temp was not an issue running this combo.

Also for you Losi guys... None of them were in the main.

I was having problems with traction rolls and nose diving too. Loosened up the clicker, and it wa like driving a different truck. I picked up 2-3 secs, give it a try
