As long as you follow the manual step by step, it should be a piece of cake. Have fun with the build and take your time. I took my time and my build went super smooth. I was rewarded with one of the best running 4w corr trucks I have raced

If you're worried about building a kit, if it's your first, there's nothing to worry about.

Building a kit is so easy even ThunderbirdJunkie can do it.

There isnt a lot of room for different pinions or gear mesh. I have a 18 on the pinion with the stock 62 and it is probably about 4 or 5 mph faster than the 3800 4 pole I had in there. I had the 4 pole geared with 16/62 and was temping at 150ish at the track. Hopefully it doesnt rain tomorrow and I can try out the 2650. The 2650 gets up to speed quick and so far the truck likes the extra weight. Well see what the track thinks... The current setup on the 2650 got to a wopping 79 degrees, with any luck I can get the smaller spur and run a 20 tooth pinon. I had the 2650 laying around and figured I couldnt let all the losi guys have all the fun without at least trying.

I would back out each screw 1/4 turn untill there is no binding when rotationg the top shaft. Once you get the ront and rear smooth, put the belt on( im using hole 3 in the rear and 5 in the front). It should be smooth with no binding. Put your wheels on and roll it across the floor, it should roll nice and smooth. Mesh up you pinion and spur gear and your ready to roll!
Make sure the top 2 screws that go threw the shocktower into the tranny case are the correct ones. The bottom screws are longer, some say the longer will go threw the case straight into the diff gear.

You got it bro, it's not as intimidating as you think. Grab a 12 pack of Mt. Dew, turn on some dub and get to it!

I agree with Salad, it's not a hard build really. Servo install is kind of "goofy" but it works. I think they might have been able to simplify it a little but once it's in who cares.

Anybody running the belt looser than the factory settings? Thinking from my TC days that looser is better as long is doesn't skip teeth..

They also sell a 60T spur for it. You can find them at amainhobbies.com

I am running less and I just adjusted my driving when using brakes I ease it on at the end of the straight instead of stabbing it and the belt does not slip.

So does anyone know the thread size of the button head screw that hold the piston on. The head just broke off one.

My bladders in the rear shock are all deformed too. Like AE over tightened them and they caved in.

Hey, the 32p spurs used on this thing are the same as GT2 spurs aren't they?

WINNING

Never mind same as used for the bleeder screws. Not using them because I am using bladders. Practice back on this weekend.

has anyone experienced the belt skipping yet? I am running mine 4 and 4 and am just curious how noticeable it is. There is still quite a bit of drag break from the belt tension and i would like to run it a little looser.

Also, I noticed when I took apart my diffs to replace the fluid that i did not have shims behind the planetary gears like the manual shows. A little worrying but if it does not hurt anything then no biggy.

Default stock inserts

what about the stock inserts, can I use those with some aftermarket tires?
are the foams good enough?

Stock foams are pretty stiff, but have a nice rounded profile. They'd probably be good for indoor tires, but ThunderbirdJunkie would rather have AKA's red inserts for running outdoor.
