I had a lovely birthday - Finals day at the track, big event, hanging out and tuning motors, sniffing nitro, and making up the numbers in the A Final, then having a bourbon with the boys afterwards. Probably the best "birthday day" I've had for a few years

I went back to the 2072 for a race meeting yesterday, and I definitely got better economy than with the 053.
Power was a bit more brutal down low with the 2072, but could have run 10 min tanks on this track easily.
We only ran 5 min heats and I was coming in after 5:20 (plus an extra lap of 40 sec to get to the loop and start - 6 min total run time) with just under half a tank. This motor has 1.5 gal on it now, and still has some nip at the top of the stroke.
Seems to reflect what everyone else in finding - the 2072 is the way to go for the GXII-5RHO at this stage.

good old 2072, all i ever run now...suites all my GO engines and pretty much all the taiwanese offroad motors, what can GO do to improve on it when they up date it?
fancy screw on stinger tips I had a good stirr with the alpha boys on sunday Shane as to why they were not running them, most of them had not heard about this new design.
what do you engine gurus think a 7mm and 7.5mm vs the 8mm std stinger will acheive apart from more tank pressure.

hi just to let ye know the new gxii has reached ireland and is lookin good,broken in 2 weeks ago and got 3rd place in the first round of our clubs summer champs. recently, using jvdrc clutch with gold springs and 2072 pipe,definately has a nice bottom end ,early days yet lookin forward to racing it again this sunday,(motor is all the way from nz!)jason

Yep, the JVD / Ascendancy 4 shoe with alloy shoes and gold springs is the sweet combo for this motor, plus the 2072 pipe as well - your on a winner.
Great smooth power with economy to boot. Glad your liking the motor

what would cause the engine to stay at a higher idle when stopped? then go down?

if its high when you first stop after a run and then drops after sitting there then its fat and wide on the bottom, if it is dropped when you first stop and then rises and then drops again after being stopped then it is borderline lean on bottom.

I have a GO sport 25 engine that I'm going bump starter box with and I need to apply a back plate on it instead of a pull-start. Does it absolutely need a Go back plate to work? Is there any other compatible back plate crosses out there that will work for this motor??? Can i just make a teflon cover for it??? Can I just apply a pull start casing to seal it up??? I need advice please!!!!

if the GX series back plate will fit i have one. just need to find out if its the same, im sure someone will chime in with a yes or no

Just leave the pullstart on the motor & use the bump box, that's what i do for my young blokes LRP RTR's with zero problems.

That's the problem. Won't fit. Hitting my rear upper a-arm's. I installed it on my REVO. It's huge and I just need it to clear the a-arms and I'm golden. Any suggestion's? Is there a short enough roto start that might be less then 3/4 inch long maybe???

aha more imfo lol, Mark, Ruune or Grizz might be able to contact Simon at the factory to find out for u as the sport rear cover isn't on the GO web site & the pro rear cover won't work because of the crankshaft
