Yeh I'm thinking the base will be fine but that adapter looks like a 10mm nut and the ascendancy is an 8mm to give clearance for a socket to tighten it up..I'm not sure there will be enough clearance between the nut and the clutch to fit any socket..but maybe an old style box spanner will fit..Oddly enough I thought I had a similar adapter somewhere but with a c clip not a threaded hole for a bolt..it was left over from a VERY old car..when I started buggy racing all engines used that kind of adapter...way cheaper to replace than a crank if you kill a set of clutch bearings.

what is the size of the nut at widest point? i think i is about 11mm, the clutch is about 12.8mm where the clutch nut goes, it might fit but will be a chore to try to tighten.

I just measured it for ya's.
It's 10mm and is 11.1mm from corner to corner.

Hey, how is the 2047 pipe? I picked one up by chance recently.. Have a Go GXR 5-port and a Mach I'd like to try it on.. Is it more low end, top, mid, lame, great, or what? Thanks... Right now I want to try it in my SC8 with both the Go and the Mach..

im not familar with that pipe, all you can do is give it a try and let us know. watch your temps, some pipes seem to make engines run hoter than normal.

It's a Go pipe. Pretty sure it's the kit pipe that came in pre-GXR Go combos...

2072 is the pipe that comes with combos. I think thats an older model,but not positive.

i think its what they recommended for the old red head spec 3 port.

the 2047 was before the 0801 and now we have the 2072..guys used to run the 2047 pipe with 0801 header or other way around (I'm not sure now) to get the same results as the new 2072.

oh to answer your question, it was a very smooth pipe rite through the rev range.

Yep, the old GO 2047 is a nice pipe. Like Flanno said, very smooth. Basically a mid to top end pipe - it has a shorter header than the 0801 or 2072.
We used to use the 2047 with the longer 0801 header - we called it the poor man´s 2072 in those days . That is a really nice combination and will work awesome on the GX-5R. It will work great with the standard header too, bit if you can get hold of a longer header use one.
I still have my ¨poor man´s 2072¨. I use it for breaking in motors now as it is a bit clogged up from lots of use over the last couple of years.

PS; I ran the Truggy Team Spec today..............It's totally insane, running 14/46 gearing I still had to put 0.9mm springs in it to keep the front down. Big Grin

Great, thanks for the info.. Going first with a Mach 427 in my DM-1, and mid-to-top is exactly what I want...(also with the Go 5-port...)

If you really want big mid to top performance, get a GX-7R piston/rod/sleeve set and drop it in your GO (GX-5R) crankcase. The mid - top end performance of the 7R is totally wicked. Run it with a 2072 or Dynamite 053 pipe.
If funds are not an issue, then purchase an MG66 - even better mid - top
