Today is a good day. Got a slip from the post office for a customs charge. Went and paid it and picked up my boca bearings! Now i can actually get it built, hopefully by tonight! They've actually sent another set as this lot was thought to have been lost in the post so if anyone wants them i'll post them back over stateside with a decent discount.

I'll hopefully get pics of the car up later on!
Let us know what you think of the bearings, and if the price is right, I'd be interested in the other ones.

So does anyone know if they make an alum front diff brace? I dont like the plastic one =P
Glad you got the CF diff brace. I left you feedback.

What front diff brace are you referring to?

Ah, gotcha. You're talking about the plastic piece that holds the front of the center diff in place, right? Yeah, that would be great if someone made an aluminum piece.

Would any of you guys be interested in something like that? Since there is no manufacturer that makes one, I could see if the guy I use for custom CNC work would be interested in making a few. I can do the design work in SolidWorks then send it to him to get a quote. He's done a lot of work for me. I designed, and he machined, the front and rear brake caliper brackets for my race car (we went through several iterations of the front design too), he's done a bunch of brackets and plates for me, and he machined the hats on my front rotors to convert them to floating rotors. He does quality work.

I would think we could do the piece out of 6061, or maybe even 2024 aluminum.

id like one if it was 6061 and 2 peices like the stock one.

Would the holes be threaded, as the plastic ones uses long bolts that thread into the plastic.

I was thinking it would be one piece. Would likely be cheaper that way.

The holes would be threaded top and bottom.

I need to order one so I can see how it's shaped, but looking at the manual, it doesn't look that complex.

I need to order a few other things, so I'll just add that to the order. It can't be that expensive, can it? Thanks for the offer, though.

However, the weather has really FUBAR'ed things up. Two packages that were supposed to be delivered yesterday via UPS still don't even show up as being delivered to the local distribution center, as of this morning. On one, I paid extra for 3-day, and from the looks of it, both aren't even going to make it until next week. That's on top of the other UPS package that didn't make it until this past Wed, about a week later than the scheduled delivery date.

Funny that none of my FedEx packages have been late...

I really need to get over this cough. It kept me up most of last night, so I slept late this morning, made it in to work late, and I have a ton of things to get done on the RC cars and the race car this weekend. At least the weather is going to be greatly improved.

Got my first run with my RC8Be last night. Very nice buggy. That thing has some serious oversteer. I liked it a lot. I can still get around the track faster with my Ve8 though It's a driving style thing. The only issue I had with the buggy was that my MMM kept coming loose. No amount of servo tape could keep it attached. I'm going to have to run some tie wraps to hold it down. Overall though, I'm pretty impressed with it.

Blade, both your cars were fast. It was fun driving, and it was nice to see more electrics showing up

Get that MMM tied down with a single zip tie and you should be good. I've seen plenty of them that were just servo taped down have the cases split apart which means sending it back to Castle

I see this as a nice little challenge to make when i get my new workshop up and running. Have thought about this ever since i got my car I have made a gearplate for my FG Marder with a jigsaw, lathe and a bench press drill (where you just clamp the drill in place) with fine tolerances, so i guess i
will be able to make the diff mount too.
