Motor = GM10.5 2010 model on 47.3mmpr

Punch level 9
Neutral 6%
Boost 55
Turbo Slope 12
Turbo 5
Start RPM 3000
Turbo Delay 0.2
Timing Acc 150
3.0v cut off
You are using Turbo to gain punch?

I would choose a milder boost setting (45 instead of 55)
Set turbo higher, from 5 to 15 (total timing will be the same)
Maybe even an higher start RPM.
Turbo delay, to 0.3 or even 0.4 seconds.
This will arrange the turbo only kicking in on the back straight.
I think you lose the punch feeling because either, your draining your Lipo to early, or the motor gets to hot, so the rotor looses it's magnetism....

Haven't tried a 3 yet. Boosted I love the 1 and 2 but for no boost I get a bit more out of the LRP.

hi there, I am new to 1:12 and have now been practicing for a month at my local track.

After a full day of practice I was wondering what should I be doing to keep my motor in top condition? ie what to oil etc. motor spray needed? if so what parts etc.

Also the diff what do you use to clean the diff balls. During the day I would normally rebuild and new diff oil around 3 times.

Thanks

There isn't much you need to do to the things. A small drop of oil on the bearings every now and then and you're pretty much set. Brush or blow the carpet fuzz out of them every now and then if you want.

Hi!

I have a 1/12 Xray XII, and I put there a GM Genius 120 and I need some help :P.

Yesterday, for the first time, I test the car, and the throttle was a bit strange. Today I install the software, but I like to know if there are some setup, or if someone have a GM Genius 120 setup for 1/12 scale.
I run with 4600 NiMH, on carpet, with GM 6 Delta ( I will test more motors but now is the 6 Delta installed)

Thks !

I just recently picked up a CRC Gen XL. I looking to find out what tools I would need with 1/12:

Droop Blocks
Droop Gauge
Ride Height Gauge
Tweak board, etc.

Also we will run 10.5 brushless or 19t brushed at my local track. Is there much difference between motors for this class? I am thinking of going Team Orion 10.5 Vortex (new can) as far as esc I am thinking Tekin RS as I can pick those up cheap used. I just don't have the 2-4 weeks to wait for the Xerun 120a 1s to ship.

Now I do have the receiver pack one dynamite 180mAh 2s 20c 7.4v and Protek RC LiFe 6.6v 200mAh. Do you need special charger to charge LiFe packs?

Thanks in advance for all help!

A 10.5 with a Tekin and timing etc should be power more than anyone in your position just starting out could ever want. As for tools you will not need droop blocks. The tools I use about any time I work on my GXL goes...

Allens
.050"
1/16"
5/64"
3/32"
Nut Drivers
3/16"
11/32"
Ride height gauge
sliding camber gauge
turn buckle wrench
needle nose pliers
tweezers
calipers
good set of eyeballs
Pane of glass for set up

You can get a tweak board if you want but I wouldn't say its necessary.
I can't help ya with the charge info as I run boosters.

You'll need a particular charger that has the capability to charge A123 or LIFE cells. Understand that Lithium-ion Polymer (LIPO) are entirely different compared towards a LIFE pack. For example to name a few different chargers that enable to you to do both LIFE and Lithium-ion Polymer you could look at the following brands: (**Assuming you don't already own a charger capable of charging a LIFE pack)
  • Hyperion
  • LRP
  • Muchmore
  • Checkpoint/Racers Edge
