I run my Tekin 1700kv indoors and love it.

I run a Tekin 1900kv outdoors.

SEF, I have that motor on order, but I'm running the 2050KV motor now. What gearing do you run with the 1900?

I run 46/18 or 19 indoor (I race at WCRC regularly), and I run 46/20 for a larger 1/8th scale track (Revelation). If you have those three pinions you should be good for most any track using the 1900.

Guys,

I just got the tapered 10x1.1m pistons. My questions is what setup is everyone running with them? Do I leaved the FT stock setup and just change the pistons out, and stick with stock 25wt?

Secondly, what can I expect the car to do different with these pistons vs the stock ones.

Thanks guys,

Jim

Is the pinion gear called "Mod 1" for the RC8e? I ordered a pininon which was totally wrong (part # 8255 from AE for your info). I don't know where my brain was when ordering. I ordered 48 pitch 18T, that was wrong i see now.

I've been using the 10x1.1 pistons for some time and really like them. 25wt all around is a good setup. Depending on how much traction or how bumpy the track is I might go up or down in weight in small increments (usually plus or minus 2.5wt and no more than 5wt). They work really well on clay indoor tracks as well as large bumpier outdoor tracks.

The 10x1.1 pistons change the rate of damping. Meaning, when you try them for the first time, you might think your buggy is underdamped. But really the suspension will be very active and soak up the small stuff well, and the damping tends to increase as you increase your compression rate, so you will have enough pack to handle the big hits.

Yes Mod 1 is what you are looking for. Also, assuming your motor has a 5mm shaft, you will want a 5mm bore pinion.

smaller. The stock pistons are 6x1.3. The 10x1.1 pistons are also made of Delrin.

Ok, I've been searching and can't find the answer.

What size of hex tools are used on the RC8Be? I am planning on buying one and want to get the Hudy Power tool bits (hex and nuts) to go with it.
