Follow the instructions and you will be fine. Set your rebound at approx 3-5mm.
Biggest key to building the shocks is make sure the shock shaft does not pull out while tightening the bleed screw. If it does it will draw air into the shock. You will need to bleed the screws a couple times, one time will not be enough.
Also pour some shock oil in the cap before screwing it on the body.
P.S. These are my favorite shocks I've ever built (ok well at least tie Xray's TC shocks).

Green slime also keeps your shocks from leaking. I use it on all my kits.

My FT T4.1 kit came with eight spare 2-hole pistons and was missing the rear axle pins and e-clips used to hold the pistons on the shock shafts. Luckily I had a bunch of extra e-clips but I had to email AE support to get them to send me the axle pins.
Anyone else had experiences like this? All those extra pistons were particularly weird...

The axle pins and e-clips were definitely missing. I'm always very careful when I open and assemble a kit. I do it in a big open space on a big orange towel as it's easy to find any stray parts.

Which reminds me, I need to go pick up my V2 shocks for my SC10 from the LHS. I hope Maybell's still holding them for me.

Ahhh - I didn't realize that. Crap - now I have to figure out whether I used the right ones. I think two of them came in a separate bag and those are the ones I used.

FYI I always put the piston on the shaft with the # up so I can check it without having to pull the shaft out..

They pull the pistons off the parts tree and bag then with the coresponding shafts. If those are the ones you used then they are right, weather you put them on the right shafts is another story that may require going inside the shocks.
