I would be worried about contaminating the diff lube if anything but diff lube was used. The aero car stuff is from way back and never seemed to have a problem because it doesn't sling off the gears.

I would leave your balls out of this. Maybe some baby powder to prevent chaffing.

Default 17.5 gear ratio

Hey guys

Can someone suggest a good gear ratio for a b4.1 on a medium size dirt track with:

Speed passion3.0- 17.5 turn and Tekin RS PRO, without boost/timing? and a good starting point with boost and timing advanced?

cheers, azza

Arms, ball cups, ball studs and then just basic rebuild stuff like shock o-rings and oils. Maybe get some spare bearings from Avid on the cheap but it should be a while before you need them.

The B4.1 doesn't break as easily as the B4 since the plastics are more forgiving. I tend to carry more tuning parts then spares for breakage now than when i had my B4.

First try and running timing with mine...

RS/Novak 17.5

72/31
30 degs boost 4900-15000 rpm
No turbo...

Motor is coming off at 100 degs...

Still playing with it, but I think I need alittle more pop down the straight. Not sure how much timing the SP motors have on the can, the novaks come with 30 degs.

When I buy a new AE kit.. I also order at the same time...

1. Tube of green slime for the shock orings
2. 30 degree caster blocks
3. Lead weight if im out
4. Losi grey rigid or schumacher ball cups to replace the kit ones
5. and Lunsford titanium studs for front/rear shock tower ballstuds to replace.

I'm running a FT T4.1 with an LRP SXX TC II and a Tekin 13.5. I'm gearing it at 78/25. Does that sound right?

lil bit of weight in the right spots. correct lubes and slime. then go run the car on the right tires. buy spares as needed from the track speed shop. after u observe what others or even urself break, u will naturally accumulate some pieces over time.
