thought that maybe someone like you with allot of nova experience could elaborate a little on what you think this engine would be like?

our team needs an engine with good run time and smooth delivery as must of the tracks here are low grip and somewhat bumpy.

to me it seems the components in these engines are very similar with only differences in ports nr's and bore stroke. furthermore it looks like the crank for instance is not tuned. I know the quality must be good I am just afraid this is a entry level engine.

our engine sponsor has the Max power line and the Mega engines as he is the Serpent distributor here. that is why we don't just run the plus-4 and be over with it..

looking forward to your comment thanks
if i were you i would choose the m5 for buggy and the m5b for truggy .

something interesting is the parts views you sent me have the same part# for the p/s set on both of the m5/m5b and i know for fact they are different .

i havent done a tear down on any of those c5q engines but it looks like they are differnt bore and stroke design than traditional novarossi long stroke engines . big bore/short stroke ? like the old sbk?

28002 is the part# and yes there is some power to gain but you gotta be able to tune it to see the benefits

Monty that engine I got off you was the worst non tuning engine I ever seen. That crank was so far out of balance and you tuned to much port flooding into the sleeve and your way off on my inertial compression. I'm going to send it to RBMods to get it fixed..

Thanks for the info: Mostly looking for mpg, but my tuning skills are on par with driving skills-both need work. I will just keep the regular head, that way when my tune sucks and I kill the plug, its cheaper....
Speaking of plugs, which do you like--I assume you may say Nova, but I appreciate you opinion. The carb on mine doesn't' allow me to use a restrictor, but I have a diff Nova carb that does, but it doesn't have the mid range needle, will the non mid needle carb be easier for me to use, and tune..?

that must be an old engine if it doesnt accept inserts , at least the carb anyway

odo100 or odo77 or mccoy mc8 are all great plugs for standard in novarossi

y a, i probably should have installed the new super flux inductor in that prototype engine that i was testing on you (the customer) before i shipped it!!

btw , how did you like the overly induced super unbalance untrue crankshaft mods i performed on that engine for ya

g'day mate,
I have been using the 21+4 over here in Australia for about 6 months now i am amazed at the run time and reliability of them (i came from Go tech and Sirio based engines), the engines i am using are box stock, not +4c i was wondering if there are any mods you could do to increase top end without sacrificing much runtime, any reply appreciated

btw i am using 30% and 9901 41021 pipe and header

Switch to a 41005 , 41001 or 41019 header and it will help you out more than any mods .
