I will not disagree with you, Monty. Personal I do the pitstop a little different:
Find out how long your car can run a tank of fuel in the qualifications. Let’s say it is 9,15. Now, you can't make pitstops at 9 min. Depending the track size, a 8,30 pitstop strategy will be save. If you then run a 30 min. final, I would pit at 8,30 of 3 reasons:
1: You won't get into much traffic in the pitlane.
2: The final stop should be at around 26 min. Your mechanic can make an even quicker stop, because the tank doesn't have to be filled up to the very top of the tank.
3: If you get into trouble in the final, you perhaps can drop the last pitstop and gain approximate 10-15 sec in the final result.
Cheers

I rebuilt a friends buggy and he's got a p5 turbo plug engine. I put an odonnell 97t plug in it with 25 percent byrons. It starts fine, but anytime I give it throttle it dies. I am stumped. I never had a problem like that. It's tuned fairly well I don't think that's the problem. He had sealed the carb, shoult I take the carb off and reseal it just to be sure. The plug is fine but he had an os plug in it and could it have caused it to not seal properly even though the odonnell plug fits it better. I really don't like turbo plugs. Any advise would help. One thing Is I don't have these problems with engines, but I didn't break in or use this engine so I don't know what shape it's in other than it still has plenty of compression. It's probably something simple, but eludes me at the moment......When I rev it it just dies. It idles ok, but won't take fuel when reved.

Hello there,
Monty will surely have the exact answer for your question but ill just give you my 2 cents, OS plugs dont have the same taper as the Nova, that doesnt mean you cant run an OS plug on the Nova, i run an OS plug on my plus 4 but when you start using OS plugs on a nova engine, you shouldnt change back to Nova or to Odonell plugs because when the pressure rises inside the chamber, sometimes it will leak and it will flame out.
cheers

i would have to hear it to tell you if it is as a rich flameout or lean flameout .
could possibly be improper shimming

i have had 5 ports that really did not like turbo combustion chamber no matter what i did . try a standard
