Not to bash it but that online store looks kinda fishy.

For those that haven't read the SUPER HOT PRESS RELEASE from Horizon!

"For those of you still running GRP engines in the US, Horizon recently contacted us to let us know that after GRP's exit from the engine business, Horizon purchased the remaining inventory of engines, parts, glowplugs etc. So rest assured there is a good supply of parts available to continue running these engines. Simply visit Horizon's website, and type "GRP engine parts" in the search box for an up to date list of what's in stock"

Horizon updated the site and it is a joke.

Overpriced crap that is available everywhere. I dont need shims at full retail or cooling heads at full retail. A blatant advertisement full of lies meant to sell some of the crap inventory-Nothing more!

This is the line that kills me "So rest assured there is a good supply of parts available to continue running these engines"

No Engines
No piston/sleeve combos
No conrods
No piston pins

I called Horizon the minute thier offices opened on Monday and ohh man did I get some BS. They cant even service a warranty claim and when I asked how they were going to fix a brand new out of box issue. Suddenly disconnected-shocking.

This was a product that they pushed and they recommended.

Yes, buyer beware but come on. I dont care if a bomb went off in the factory. There were never enough support parts manufactured period.

So how are we to "rest assured"

I just won an auction for used piston and conrod. I care most about the conrod. One over heated run or a good pinch, will jeopardize the integrity of the con rod and I need atleast a couple gallons to warrant my investment.

Yes, buyer beware:
I talked to a few of the losi pros and sponsered GRP drivers. Like what I heard, got 3 motors delivered and the next day-wham-Drake gone?

Heck, Team Losi's site still has "tune your GRP like a pro by ADAM DRAKE!!
http://www.losi.com/Articles/Article...ArticleID=1897

As a supplier and company that contracted for a product- It is there responsibility to have parts support covered and if not:

They need to offer the ones that have that product(s) some sort of restitution. At minimum, pull the molds and have a few conrods molded out.

I guarentee you that Associated made sure that their engine makers of the new Reedy motors had more than 2 Conrods available for repair.

Why is it the rest of the Losi motors have matching components with parts availibility?

Yes, I have Hotbodies listed on my signature for Nitro but was a supporter and user of Losi electric products.
Up to today was going to purchase 8ight E and the new strike. Not a frickin chance of that happening now.

Sorry for venting. I can afford to lose a 1000.00. It sucks but I wont starve that is not the same for alot of my friends and co racers.

This is not a fair way of doing business and sweeping it under the "burning" carpet. I was hurt but up to that announcement from Neobuggy did I get **ssed!

I honestly think that it is time that we post our unhappiness with Losi and Horizon as the consumer.

Will

Will heating up my engine with a heat gun lower the amount of time spent "warming it up" to get rid of the richness?

^ Yes.

I preheat my engines to around 160 (and let them saturate at that temp before firing) before every run.

Loooooong sleeve life thus far. Also makes them easier to start

Default rods

Well guys I just sold my tuned .21.I came across fthobbies.com and as far as I can tell they have some tuned rods.I didn't purchase one,but it would let me place one in my buggy without saying it was backordered. And only 59.99 also.So if you guys are lucky they just might have some.Hope this helps
