The modded 5 is a good choice. I like mine alot, very powerful all the way through the band. I am finishing the break in on my new modded 3 this week and will let you guys know my thoughts on that. 1 thing I will say is that the 3 is much easier to break in, my starter box isnt mad at me with this 1 lol.

Well ive had my 3 port r for about a month now and has ran awsome never flamed killer power in my 1.0 buggy
So I just got a used EBmods full Mod 5 port for my 2.0 truggy and this thing runs awsome cant wait to race it TONS of power. All I know is its going to take an engine sponsor to keep me from running these engines
What would you guys suggest to keep these motors running for a long time the EB mods is almost at the 2 gallon mark and just got a brand new front bearing and the 3pt r is at about 1.5 gallons on it since a new piston sleeve rod and had the bearings replaced about 2.5 gallons ago.
Thanks

Just change the rod pin and clips after 2-3 gals from new, check bearings if bad put new TKO's or stockers what ever you want. I have front and rear TKO's in my 5 port now and they are awesome. My mill never flames either the 1st time was last sat I was running like 7 or 8 mins BS-ing before the main and go in for a top off and it flamed I was in shock. So I had to do the run and get running again like I have seen many others always do LOL. I attribute that to probably it being the same plug from the beginning of the season maybe I should put another in. I leave my box at my pit table thats how much I flame. But after the break in change of rod ect every 3-4 gals again do it again.

The older Gen 5 and 4 motors were super tight for sure.

Try HSN .5 in from flush and LSN 1.5 in from flush on the .28. This should get it running reasonable I would think.

these are older models, not sure how old, but def early ones, both are the sport versions, had long needles, but i cut them down... B21, silver block, A28 silver block

With the short needle go for 1.5 in on the HSN and 2 - 2.5 in on the LSN. This should get you running for sure, then fine tune from there.

Do the new gen5.5 carbs with the long LSD needle tune any different to the earlier gen?I shortened the needle on my 7port,runs great, but always felt like I was cheating
