About a year ago when the 3-Port Race was barely coming out I saw Go Team Driver George Drake (T-Mizzle) running his 3-Port on his Kyosho STRR Truggy and that thing was ripping the track, was clearing everything and didn't seem to lack anything, it was a RC Pro race.

I can honestly say I have never seen the mount on the motor break off like that. I can't believe that it did that. I would take it back to the guy you bought it from. Go dealers are very willing to help.

as for the ear braking off i this is the 3rd time i seen it but the first time on a GO , im sure the dealer will do any thing to help you out
possably a casting fault , or maybe the engine pulled down on an angle and with the consistant vibrations the ear cracked ...

Yours isn't the first to break like this. I saw it happen to another Go engine recently (on a Losi 8ight) . After looking at that one, the engine case did indeed sit low enough for that to happen. Go needs to lower the "ears" a bit or lap the bottom of the case more thoroughly.
In the future, put some washers between the "ear" and the engine mounts to make sure there's enough clearance.

the 5 port is a beast of an engine but can be tamed down by which springs and shoes you run in the clutch, which diff oils you use and how you set up your controller.
i originally was going to go for the Go Gen 5-3 port R-spec as i was worried about the power but got a deal on a 5 port that was to good to ignore and i've found the 5 to be perfect for me in both truggy and buggy.

Hi beer,
The MMods Stage 5 5 port is one sweet motor. The Stage 5 although it has more overall power, actually is a little softer on the bottom end than the stock version. This is done to make the motor more tractable and easier to drive (especially in buggy). It is acheived by changing the engines timing as part of the modifications.
I run the Stage 5 5 Port in my buggy and it is a great buggy motor. I run alloy shoes with 2 x 1.1 springs and 1 x 1.0 spring and 10% exponential on the throttle and it drives very nicely (on my track anyway).
In Stage 5 trim the 5 Port has heaps of power all around, with extended top end that pretty well matches the 7 Port.
I have heard other modders say that the 5 Port modded correctly is the best buggy motor in the GO range. I am not qualified to comment on that statement, but I would highly recommend it
(It is also the base motor for the new MG66 to be released soon, which speaks volumes about the original 5 Port motor in itself).
