I have finally got some racing weather fellas, I been out there putting my thing down LOL. The Powerhouse 3 port race is just amazing. It dont stop and I could squeeze 10 mins out of it to, I like that alot. I am still here if needed PM me if anything. Dont nobody get mad but I have been attempting to build a E-buggy LOL. The e-class has been growing around here and they look like fun also. But if I EVER go somewhere and they are running the buggies all together sorry E-buggy LOL. It will have GO stickers on it anyway.

I think 22Racer was refering to a shim under the sleeve itself, which has an effect on the timing and hence the power band. Sounds like a great concept for guys with stock 5 ports in their buggies that don't want the expense of getting a full mod done to tame the bottom and extend the top.
Maybe Rex could explain further ??

Hi guys, just hoping I could get some advice on my new engine pipe combo that will be going into my RC8 soon. Now I know asking what gear people think is the best can be biased but I'm now stuck in a bit of a jam as of which way to lean. Like I said Ivé got an RC8FT that I am currently running a V spec with 2060 pipe. I'm looking for a new mill for the rest of this season and next year as the V spec is starting to feel a bit tired. I was thinking about getting a WS73 but for the price and the amount of racing I do and not to forget that I'll never realy be a threat to the fast guys, I just one a bang for your buck engine that will still deliver the goods as my skills improve. So I've been looking at the Go engines but now can't decide on what one to get. I will be racing on a high bite blue groove surface that is fairly flowing, so would the 3, 5 or 7 port suit me better.
I have a 7 port arriving tomorrow, I'll let you know how they compare if you're interested.

From what I've learned about the Go's, it seems like the 3,5, or 7 could work in almost any situation. I started with a 5 and ran it hot. It had more top end than any of the guys I raced down the straight, but when I got into the technical sections it performed like the kind of engine that would be described as "bottom end only". Basically, I ran a 5 port on the hot side (280 degrees) and really did get the best of both worlds. Just my .02

It's like Dolly Parton - top heavy
, but it has plenty of bottom too (sorry Dolly). Ideal buggy motor with 1.1 springs. You will love it.280 is pretty warm. You will get plenty out of the GO's without wringing them that much

You thought the 5 Port had good top end - wait until you unleash the 7 Port

Of the GO models (stock motors) I think I would be safe in saying that the 5 Port has the best power of all, particularly bottom end power. Perhaps because it's a happy medium between the 3 and 7 port models, it has the best of both worlds ? Massive or someone else in the know would be able to explain it all better (when he gets a spare moment away from the 66 orders

Grizz is right, I am shimming the sleeve up to change timing of the motor. (thin shim under the sleeve) It takes away a little bottom end and gives it more top end. I have been doing this on alot of the 5 ports I sell but you can do it to most motors. I have a .25 6 port that runs really well with a timing change and the turbo button. I don't recommend someone that isn't good with engines to do it himself, the head shimming needs to be changed also. A modder once told me you can dremel all you want and it won't make as much of a difference as a timing change. I am finding this to be true.
