Monty I am haveing trouble with this new bf , it starts fine idle's then starts to rev higher and higher until it's out of control. I have pressure tested the tank, changed lines, sealed carb and back plate. Could I have gotten a new engine with a bad front seal. Carb is set at 3.75 hsn and 3 lns 1mm open, I only have 2 tanks of fuel though it.
Any thoughts of what might try would be great, not impressed with my first nova at all.
thanks

That was the problem I went back out and over the engine agian and found 1 of the head bolts was loose from the factory. Damm I feel like a newbe the one place I never thought to look. I just put 5 tanks though it over this afternoon runs great I take back my bad mojo about this engine. It has how ever ate the wheel on my ofna truggy box even after heating it up every time after a heat cycle.

thanks

thanks

if the head is that loose you will find that there will be a good load of fuel seapage from the underhead .

whats a good temp range for my nova n21bf2000 to run at ? I have about 3/4 of a gallon on it and still have to preheat to get it running. I know not to tune to temp but dont want to overheat it at all. It is running pretty good but havent leaned it out as much as I would like. Its been running about 210-220 with plenty of smoke. Is there a magic range for this engine ??

HI Huston.
The problem with Nitrothane is not the fuel itself. I have had that happend also with Tornado, Byron, Mecca fuel. Only with Tornado myself but helped other people with the same problem.
The problem in all three cases is that the engine have been to lean on bottom end so the enigine temps get high. Then, the HSN is very rich and when you open the throttle to get some revs on the engine, fuel is gumming up and locks the piston. It is a really pain in the a.. to get them back up because th episton is so stuck i have used a wisegrip plier to get the piston unstuck. I have then changed the conrod just to be safe.
The last engine i did run in, i ran in on Nitrothane. It was an OS V-spec and usually they have been loosening up between 2 and 2.5 liters. Wit hNitrothane i did almoast 3,5 liters before it loosend up and still even ha a slight pinch. It runs cooler with Nitrothane than Sidewinder and Werks and i get better runtime.

It seems to me that probably a bad batch of fuel went out, since alot of people claim recent success using nitrotane, and theres also people, such as myself, who have had to exact same problem... so probably a bad batch if I had to guess.
