What was the problem with the RB #5 plugs ?
Looking at changing to the RB plugs, as the OS P3 plugs have just hit the NZ$19 each mark here (around US$10.50).
The RB plugs are not that much cheaper to be honest (around $3 a plug), so if they are not going to work that well I will just mortgage my house and keep buying OS P3's

Its the opposite over here. RB's are about $18-$19 and the P3's are $12-$13.

I hear ya.
Considering the price of platinum (glow coil is made from platinum) has dropped from 2200 per ounce 1 year ago to 800 per ounce now, there is no reason as to why the price of glow plugs keeps going up.
Everything is out of wack at the moment.

GO .25 6 port or Go .21 5 port? Got the cash so which one!!!! For a st-rr racing

i had a rb mods .21 5 port and i liked it alot, it was better than a stock .25 to me. the .25 is a little weak on the topend so if you have tracks with alot of infield and not real long straights the .25 is good. It holds a good tune and has alot of torque.

is the .21 5 port better on top?

I have a PTM 5 port and my buddy has a PTM .25 and we both at the time had them in truggy. Off the line he had more torque but by the end of the straight He was reved out and I was still pulling. I was running a Dynamite 086, and he was running the GO 0801. So yes to me the 5 port .21 does have more top end than the .25.

well it'd only make sense that a .21 has more top IMHO but the 21.5 port derek is a great motor modded or stock...plenty of torque for truggy and plenty of top...won't blow by speeds but won't get left either for the price it's an excellent motor...just needs a little care...I will be switching rods on mine @ 2 gallons because these motors have more pinch than any motor i've ever owned and does a thing or two on the rod..

Shane a few options re: plugs

You could try some O’Donnell OS style plugs, they are cheaper and fairly tough from what I have heard. Check out RC Mart.

If you plane on running RB plugs which are NR based then try Extreme racing plugs as they are cheap at Carolinas R/C they are can be used in a NR engine without leaks, I can send you a PM from a good source about the Plug design/fit if you like?

$19 for plugs that's steep mate, $120 minimum just to walk out the door to race, 3 plugs, race fees, food and drinks, ect, expensive, but fun..

Well here are the 3 im considering. Dont car about fuel milage cause they are all the same.
- JPX .28
- GO .25 6 port
- GO .21 5 port

i would go with the .21, just because it is just as fast on the bottom but better on the top. now that is based on the 3 engines you have listed.

I would do the Go 5 port turbo before the .28 jpx. Out of three of us running MBX5t's last year I had the Go and my buddies one ran the ofna p3 .28 and the other the jamming .28 they were lucky to get 6.5 min. on a tank. As for me the .21 motor was almost as good on the bottom but better on the straight and much easier to drive faster and more consistant. PLUS I GOT OVER 8 MIN. OF RUN TIME!!! As for the .25 I haven't seen one so no idea?
