if your case is black and the head has the new GO logo with tribal flames then you have the newer one.

The first batch had the silver case.

i have/had that motor, its really good. i think better than the new ones except for the fins on the head started falling off and i cracked the case. now its in a sts case and head waiting for new conrod. has about 4 gallons on it still screaming with jp-4. good mutt motor now.

Roughly 6 - 8 months ago, depending on what part of the world you are in.
The older motors are the Gen 4 and the newer motors the Gen 5.
Newer Gen 5 motors have a new design crankshaft, new cooling head, some slight changes to the crankcase and an all black carb. All Gen 5 motors come with turbo head button as standard too.
Performance is very similar, but I have heard that the new crank design is superior on the Gen 5's and that they lend themselves to being modified a little better.

Go parts in a Sts case? Have you ran it yet, I wouldn't think it would work.

my question would be which pipes can you recommend on this engine? i know there is a motorbox with a go-pipe included, but are there any other pipes worth to try? (e.g. the ae/tt 2035, which suits to quite a lot of engines...)

thx in advance!

Os plugs are a little too spendy for me so we use Odonnell 97t. We get 1-2 gallons on a plug. Early in the year we ran Nova/Rb #6 and 5's and didn't like them.
