i tried that with my 3 port race spec. i tried to use a headbutton from a RB CONCEPTS 5port l2g with stander plug, i found that the standerd head button was too thick, it measured (i think ) .030 thicker than the turbo plug head button. so i wouldnt use it that head button unless it was ground down to the same size,(or thickness) as the turbo head. but i bet the head button from the 3 port sport motor with the blue head from go-tech would work? I AM NOT A RC CAR MOTOR BUILDER. SO PLEASE SEEK THE WORD FROM A PRO, OR ASK THE BRAIN FROM PRO TWISTER MOD FORUMS FOR A better ANSWER.

hey man where do u race at? i race at Redline Raceway.I race at the RC Outlaws track in Collinsville, IL. Although, with the way things have been going with the weather, I may start going to Dirtburners in St. Louis, MO. We race every other Sunday whereas the Dirtburners folks race every Saturday...double the chances to get some track time in! We have lost a third of our race days to rain this year.

I am in South Eastern Australia and we are in early spring right now.
Temp is around 55f - 64f at the moment. But will get into the 90's over summer, I use the same Go No 5 plug year round.

Sup guys, I have a question because I just purchased a Go .21 5PT Combo kit and going to start the breakin this weekend.
Anyway, my friend has the same engine and after breakin his engine is running around 260F-285F degrees with good blue smoke coming from the pipe !
I live in Puerto Rico and it never drops below 70F deg even on cloudy winter days.
His setup is this: Go .21 5PT, OS P3 plug, Maxy's 20% race fuel.
If we try to tune for lower temps it bogs and doesn't want to rev, and at the temps mention it screams with good smoke comming from pipe .
does this sound ok ?

those temps are pushing the limit of power and longevity, the motor should have 30% fuel ran through it, and you will get lower temps and more adjustability on the carb settings and make more power. 250 260 is the max we like to run if the track will take it, if not 220 230 and still make tire blowing power. The plug is good, if the air has very low humidity levels run a P6 this will give some tunning options as well as far as leaning it with lower temps, and helps runtime, run the 0801 pipe and your set.

I was looking at my Novarossi standard button and it is too thick as well. Before I bought one, I figured I would ask here and see if anyone else had tried it.

i am racing at the australian truggy nationals at the moment with a 5pt with a 2060 os speed pipe with a 6.5 restrictor and get about 13 min run time on 25% 12% oil and heaps of power still as i am not getting run down by other trucks. it has huge bottom end now with solid mid and scream top end..great combo

I have a .21 3 port standard head in my kyosho very nice engine i love it. I have a Dynamite 007 Ht exhaust on it now, but soon im putting a JP-3 on it. I have a few questions though.
When this engine goes im thinking about getting a .21 7 port turbo head, i mean what exactly does the ports do and the turbo head. I understand that the turbo plug is tapered and the motor has more ports but what does it do to make it run so much better. The cost of the .21 3 port is $125 and the .21 7 turbo head is like $210 so i wanna understand all this before i go spend the money. One more thing is a motor with more ports and a turbo plug harder to tune then a standard head and less ports?

A 7 port has more top end than the 3 or 5 ports, the 7 port has 3 exhaust ports which is what give it more top end. As a general rule of thumb more ports means more top end but not always the case. The 5 port has the most bottom end of the Go motors.Do tou have the 3 port sport? If so I have experimented with some mods on the sport and I like it better than the 3 port race spec with the mods.
The turbo plug is just a better design and seals at the combustion chamber instead of at the washer, you could probably feel the difference between the two plug styles but not a big overall difference. The 5 and 7 ports probably will tune a little harder than a sport motor but they tune pretty easily.
