Hi FalconXR- , best pipe I have found so far for the 5 Port turbo is the Dynamite 086 which is available from A-Main in the US if you can't find one locally. This is a top end pipe which brings out the mid / top end on the 5 port which is traditionally a little flat at the top (as compared to the 7 port).
It comes with a medium length U bend header which also makes use of the 5 ports wicked bottom end power and gives you plenty of punch down low. The 086 gives pretty smooth power right through the range. I am also experimenting at present with the LRP 2063 pipe from Massive Mods (in Aus) http://www.massivemods.com.au/index.php?cPath=1. This pipe is also very good, with huge bottom end on the 5 port and pretty smooth right through the rev range too. I am thinking it may be as good if not better than the 086 for my track and local conditions, only time will tell. A lot of guys over here are running the new Go 2047 pipe, but mainly on the 7 Ports and 3 Port R Spec motors. I tried one on my 5 port but wasn't overly impressed to be honest. As of this moment I would have to say that the 086 is king for the 5 port, IMO of course

i thought it was my clutch so i switched to the mip 3 shoe clutch that i had in my box and it does the same thing. it hesitates then it takes off. its really aggravating that it does this but ill try everything as soon as i get a gallon of fuel from the hobby shop.

22Racer - I think I should be at round 2. I just can't get the bottom of my engine correct, and stay there. It is like a razor, just one little thing changes and it goes too lean to where it lean bogs or it goes fat.

Can you expand a little on your experiences with this combo and how the performance has increased? I'm not overly concerned with run time at the moment, just general engine performance comparisons between pipes.

Cheers

I felt the engine more "snappier" but still controllable with the 059 pipe, it was alright with the JP-4 but I really liked how it felt with the 059, at some point I thought it was lean because it was just faster but when I checked the temps it was around the same as the JP-4.. around 250's F, I even got around 230's on a 15 min main this past weekend.

Maybe the LSN is kind of lean?

if the clutch is good, it just about has to be the LSN,make sure the drive train isnt binding any. you can also try a stiffer cluch spring, but play with the LSN first

run times will get better once it fully breaks in. You should be getting around 8 minutes. Maybe longer depending on your driving style and what pipe/restrictor combo.

Hey T-Mizzle give me an update on the 25--also what pipe and plug are ya using. Waiting on Brian (PTM) to get one headed my way, gonna put on my STRR for the Border Wars series here in alabama--gonna try to give these OCM test trucks a run for there money!!!

Thanks man--you gonna try to make it to the SIC (basically the AIC under new management and different time of the year--should be cool, but without the wood jumps in ATL).

Anyone know where I can get a piston/sleeve/rod for the 5 port?

Try the Jamming JP-4. It is another option. I know many ppl like it at my area with Go Tech 5/7 port.
