I want your opnion regarding seal the carb. First, its really necessary? How to know if it needs to be sealed? Where to seal?

If you want to seal your engine for precaution, then put some sealant by the carburetor neck before installing it into the engine, do not use too much, all you need is a little bit, and wipe off excess, just make sure you do not let any of the silicone sealant material get inside the engine.

ps. The carburetor neck is the only place you want to put silicone.

Does anyone know if the O'Donnell turbo plugs fit into Picco engines?

Jeff1.......be careful when you go to remove the carb. Remove as much of the sealant from the base of the carb, and completely remove the pinch bolt assembly and sealant. You've pretty much made an air tight seal which is fine. When you run the motor for an extended period, the RTV will get hard. The carb barrel(the part that goes into the engine) is composite with an aluminum sleeve bonded to it. If you twist and pull off the carb you may leave the aluminum sleeve inside the engine.

ODONELL plugs are Nova Rossi based plugs.

Team Orion plugs worked with good success. However, they seem hard to come by. Picco plugs are my first choice though.

dear all,

i'm in need of advice. I've got myself an ofna jl3 engine. I've done the break-in without issues.. comfortable running temperature.. good smoke trail, nice sound while accelerating, etc. After the break-in I was happy with the performance although I knew the motor could be pushed further. So far I was using 20% nitro.

After I changed to 16% I've started seeing some issues. To get the same performance and get the car to shift at same spot on the track, I had to lean a bit the hsn. Now the temperature runs higher...260F with less performance then I've had with 20%. any leaner and the engines gets too hot. Also when gradually accelerating the car off the ground, it starts fine but at a point in time, the revs start dropping rather than increasing, but there's still alot of smoke coming out...

I've read somewhere that this engine is shimed already for 30% nitro. Should I remove a shim and see if it helps?
I may blame the pipe as well. I'm running a copy of an efra 2017 pipe.

I ordered a picco 2607 now but it's still a month away to get it. Would the tuned pipe make the difference I'm looking for?

I just got my 2607 pipe and MAN does it rip! Best pipe Ive tried by far. Four wheel tire spin thru first.
My first race is sunday 13th but on friday I pulled the plug to check out how much pinch was left and noticed my conrod is a bit loose, so I am going to have to run my backup engine tomorrow (RS12).
I put in an order with Kamikazee for an evo3, new conrod and stuff

The 2607 is amazing isn't it? if you compare it to other pipe it's just a night and day difference.
