As a side note, since this is your first Mugen kit, you might want to try checking out this Web site for some MTX-4 tips...

I have put the diff the front with 100000 and it is good but around 2 tens slower at times but real easy to drive. I can fax it to you or I will also try to don load it to my next meesage or call me at SpeedWorld and I can give it to you quickly.

I hope this helps

Default QUESTION?

Hello,
I have a quiestion about the side belt pulley, what is the diffrence of the 23T and the 24T side belt pulley? is about the transfer rate on the AWD or the feel of the car on handling on turns?

I believe it's 24 and 25 tooth pulley. A 24 tooth on the side gives a little over drive (the rear turns less than the front). A 25 tooth will give more a 1/1 ratio meaning the front and rear wheels are driven at the same pace. But this all is dependant on you front and rear tire diameter. I believe this is correct. but don't qoute me. Look at the Rollout Chart from Mugen it will explain more.

Your right the overdrive changes, if you cut the tires as you would for the 24t and then put the 25t on the car will be under driven say 1/2 percent, say you cut your tire at 59mm frt and 61mm rear. But some of the drivers like the tire diameter are closer together so the rear doesn’t wear faster than the front and tires will be more equal from the start of the race. To acieve the same over drive the tire dia differance is around .5mm differance from frt to rear with the 25t. It is not the most correct answer, but it easy to explain it that way some racers try it.., lol. I tried it and I personally didn’t like it.

Did any one meassure the steering angle with the set up station tools? I trying to have moore over steer on my MTX-4 without changing the Mtx-4R front upright. now I correct some ups! on the steering servo mount and the steering servo arm, now I am having 30o on each side. Is this good? because with the new front upright I'll get 2o moore but I want to try with out the upgrade first. please some feed back

Default MTX4 vs. MTX4R

Can anyone tell me what are the significant differences between the MTX4 and the MTX4R besides the option parts. Can a MTX4 be upgraded to a MTX 4R? We currently own a MTX3 and are looking to upgrade. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The Major change from the MTX4to The MTX4R is in the front steering geometry
Different front hubs 2deg and the lower arms
The 4 is easily upgraded to the 4r
Just cant remember the other upgrades
But they where only cosmetic things like alloy wheel hubs
Iam sure someone will add the rest
