This is the thing I like least about tamiya. The base kits come with self tapping screws, and then most upgrade parts are machine threads. Which you then screw into ruined holes. :-/

You need to run a 3mm screw through and put a nut at the bottom. Tamiya sells a brass flanged tubs you can put in it. Not sure of the number. The Type-SR has a set of flanged tubes with a 3mm screw but I don't see any part numbers.

I use this setup for my steering.
Tamiya bushings #50593
2 lock nuts
2 3mm x 35mm bolt. Get the ones with treads only going about half way up so the bushings don't get chewed up. Run your screw through the chassis before you start, and blow out any debris. I used the spare steering bridge that comes with the car kit. Press 2 bushings into it from the bottom. Press 1 bushing into each steering arm from the top, and washer between steering arm and chassis. Slide screw through everything with little grease for bushings. Screw it into chassis, pushing nut tight into bottom of chassis as you turn screw into it.
Don't over tighten. Make sure arms turn freely.
This won't be as good as a ball bearing setup, but much better then stock
