LouisB: If you are gonna get a Nitro Truck, Get a XXX-NT & if you can get your hands on a O.S. 12 CV-R, get one of those for it!!!!! That's what I run & my truck Dominates all others, FTRC10GT I wouldn't recommend it, they just don't compete at any of the tracks I race at!!!! I used to be all Associated until earlier this year, now I'm Team Losi almost everything, associated has just let there stuff go & all they do is add a number to there stuff to make it sound new (for example RC10B2, RC10B3, RC10T2, & 3 & etc etc!!!!) I run Trinity 20% fuel in all my stuff except 1/8 which I use 25%!!!!!

Thanks, I have seen from races I have been to with my T-Maxx that the XXX-NTs are more reliable and faster than the GTs, but fastest is a HPI Rush with a 15SS (up to .15 is legal) The fastest Losis are using Fantom engines or Novarossi. The fantoms have loads of go are they better than the CV-R?

How often do you re-build your XXX-NT diff? (I have seen a lot melt)

I have found with my .18 that I get better performance with 10% nitro than with 16%. With 16% the engine runs hotter and I have to run it 3/4 of a turn richer than I would with 10%. I can nearly make the whole main on one tank and 16% so I should be able to go the distance with 10%. I have noticed no performance advantage with a higher nitro content

LouisB: I'm not sure about the Fantom's as far as against any other engine, but they gotta be good because Fantom doesn't mess around!!! I run thier stock (electric motors) in my Touring car & they SCREAM!!!! People here are just now starting to get those Fantom Engines in & are almost ready to race with them!!!!! So we'll see!!

someone got one to try out and TQ'd and won his first race with it, since then his twin brother and another racer have got fantoms and are going really quick, it does help that they drive well though. I have seen a pic of a Fantom .15 in a T-Maxx, that should be fun to drive because they have loads of low end.

I phoned my LHS and they have some full metal gear servos for £14, $20 which is good, I'll get one of those next week

I have a motor saver filter on my maxx with a water/mud cover. I just had a look under it after nearly a gallon of fuel without cleaning it (running next to a quarry with loads of dust in the air) It's all clean now and what a difference a clean filter makes, more speed and more torque

TeamAtlas: Thanks for the feedback, I just ran my XXX-NT tonight with my O.S. 12 CV-R in it and it will not stay running, it has had about 2 to 3 gallons of fuel through it!!!! I was debating between another of the same engine or the Fantom, but I believe you just made that decision real clear for me, as I know the O.S. is Awsome!!! Wicked Power & Wicked Speed!!!! Another problem I have (Really Really Ticks me off) is that the fuel tubing keeps coming out of my pipe when I run, I have to get one with a nipple on it so my fuel tubing will just connect to it & stay put!!!!! Once again thanks for the Info!!!!!

I have been trying different springs, shock oils, and foam tire combos for a few days. The car is easy to build, easy to adjust, but I just haven't got the right combo yet. I raced a TC3 for about 6 months, but got rid of it for the Schumacher Axis cars. I run the Mission Carbon (very good chassis) now.
The NTC3 is so like the TC3 that I might do the same thing.
I still have an RS4 Nitro Racer 2, an I am building a Trinity Reflex NT, and I have a Kyosho V1R on the way. I got the V1R in a trade, and it has been raced for 6 months by a pro, maybe the belts are more for me.
I will get the sway bars for the front & back on Friday. I have a large selection of foam tires, I will keep trying out different combos.
Don't get me wrong, Associated has a killer car in the TC3 & NTC3. (They did ship it a little too early, now they have changed the fuel tank after selling a few thousand of these)

The cheap metal gear servo is really good, lots of torque but it is kinda slow (what do you expect for the price)
After checking my engine I found that it has poor compression after only one gallon (one UK gallon, 4.55l) It doesn't lock at top dead center any more. Unlike my other engines that have little compression it still starts up fine
Do some engines have less compression than others? I know that the RB engines have really good compression, I tried one in my LHS and it was hard to turn over without a glow plug in (with a pull start!!) Has anyone else found engines that run well with low compression?

teamatlas: when my HB .18 dies I'll probably get a RB .12 because they are one of the few engines that my LHS stocks (oh yeah, and they are powerful) Someone has a RB in his GT and it flies

CoastalTony: Let me know which car you like the best!!! Alot of people race Nitro Touring car (Sedans) up in Dallas, I am looking at getting one in a few months, currently trying to figure out which is the best one as far as handling & ease of finding parts!!!!!

LouisB: I know the O.S. engines have alot of compression, I have aproximately 2 1/2 to 3 gallons through my O.S. 12 CV-R & it still screams like frightened girl!!!! It has plenty of TQ & plenty of low/top end!!!! I do believe that now is time for a rebuild or a new one though!!!!! I never did answer your question about the XXX-NT diff, I usually just check it after every 3 races if it's still good I'll go with it, if not that's when it gets rebuilt, many people have it too loose & that's how they get ate up, it is a tough adjustment, but if you go by the book you should have no problems!!

I have a NTC3 and driven a Reflex, and the consesus around our group is that the Trinity is an excellent tight Road course car or a Large track car and rhe TC3 is a better oval car but also competitive on a larger roadcourse with long sweeping turns...just remember one thing what works for you won't necessarily work for the next guy.

I think myclod is on to something.
I have been working on the NTC3 for 3 weeks now. Today, I should have the yellow & red springs, also the front & rear swaybar kits.
The car is scary fast with the Collari SX .12 on it.
After I change the springs & install the sway bars, I will spend about 1/2 hour on my track, making some adjustments. I will let you know what I think.
btw, the track that I race on is quite a short, technical track. It is also an unprepaired asphalt parking lot track. I am getting a V1R on Monday. I will be able to compare the Reflex, V1R, and NTC3 at the same time. I'll just add a receiver, set the cars up similar on an M8 radio and go. This is cool, because I can have some of the "pros" at the track run 3 diferent cars in one afternoon.

My HB .18 has lost most of its compression, doesn't start easily any more, idles badly, and doesn't do hot re-starts
I raced it yesterday, it was pretty quick but stalled in two of the heats, due to being on its back (but I managed to start it back up)
In the B final I was leading until half way through when I came in for my pit-stop and brought it down to idle, it immediately stalled , so I filled it up and tried to start it but no luck. I was trying to start it for another 10 minutes. The glow starter was charged, the engine was primed but not flooded and the engine wasn't very hot
I've had this engine for less than 3 weeks and only done 2 races with it!!!!! It had good perfomance at first but is now less reliable than the stock traxxas engine (you know it must be bad)
After just spending £100 on the engine I don't really want to go out and get another one
