Pull starts reduce the rotating mass and weight in the truck. Drawback/down side of pull starts is you have to pull. If your truck is not tuned or gets detuned its not fun yanking all the time. if you can find a roto start type system and go with those.

Was my first race at Tallahassee RC track in Florida (grate job after rain) and entered the monster truck class.
I'm doing decent and all the sudden the tmaxx got sluggish?
Flamed out 2-3 times,turn marshal brought it back and I noticed the manifold gasket screw was backing out causing me to loose pressure.
Thought no problem,easy fix,wrong! Tightened the lose 3mm screw and went to use the ez-start wond and nothing happens?
Long story short it had lost of fuel in the carb and burnt out the ez-start motor and did not get to finish the 1st qualifying round.
Put my one way Bering from my Ofna lx2. .28 force engine and the original pull start on the max and it worked
