NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

In the past I've broken-in engines starting off with 25%nitro for one gallon, then switched to 30%. Am I just wasting time doing it this way or just stick with just straight thirty?

I will race the engine, not in the pro class though.sportsman is my speed.and usually it the guy that can stay on all 4 Tires the longest wins the main.like I said years ago when I was a weekend warrior, everyone ran v specs and other all out powerhouse engines but me I ran a werks b2 in a Losi and the consistacy of that mill with solid consistent laps would take me to the top of the leader board every time.looking for that same thing out of this nova engine.

why such a hard on for the turbo plugs?basicly if the engine will run from full to empty, what's the difference?I'm sure it has some sort of performance gain but if the plug will last say 2/3gallons what does it matter.other than 9 bucks each.I do own a turbo engine also, but the nova I found I'm interested in is a standard plug engine.

Has anyone of you guys had any experience with this mill?I know...I know...it's not a $400.00 mill and the fastest the on earth.I'm a sport racer and have had a lot of luck with more budget mills.just found this gold head, standard plug with a pipe for a little over $100.00.any help would be appreciated.thanks

If only the Elite 5 were the norm and not the exception when it comes to price. I'm not some expert racer by a long stretch. However, I think it's safe to say success running nitro has as much to do with the user/setter-upper/driver as it does to do with brand/model/how much money you throw at it. I'm sure most guys who race at a high level could do just great with an Elite 5. Right pipe, right clutch, right fuel, right tune..., good driving and on and on... They buy the big money engines - or are given them or given them for a deal being sponsored, to get 20 seconds extra run-time or whatever, something which is relevant for maybe %10 of the guys out there racing.. Racing would be cooler if it weren't suffused with pressure to constantly dump more and more money into it.

I agree to a point. The price per performance for the elite 5 still blows most engines out of the water.
I still love my samurai and OS engines, but there's no denying this fact. That said, the bottomline is, an engine will always be held back by tuning ability and how broken in, or how worn out it is.
