Tekno RC EB48 Thread
different pistons here, but went from a 8 x 1.3 to a 6 x 1.5 and it definitely felt more planted. Tracks are rough here.
Who has the best rough track starting setup right now on tekno's site?

Hi guys
Just want to try a electric clutch/ traction drive on my eb48
Search alot and found that electric clucth and traction drive are not the same LOL
I am not interest in mechanical brakes... Only the motor brakes
Question is
Can I use the electric clutch with motor brakes ( no mechanical brakes)??
Or only the traction drive with motor brakes?
Thanks

What you want is the traction drive. You have the ability to tune braking power and slip with the springs that you use.

Anyone ever experience Tekno wheel nuts skipping a thread when tightening up their wheels? It's the strangest thing but on one wheel recently fell off in a qualifier so I went to tighten it a little extra and it skipped a thread and loosened up a bit. After looking at both the axle threads and nut threads they both appear fine although there is some slop with them. I also thought it must have been the 17mm hex slipping inside the wheel but that is not the case either making all this seem very strange
. I will replace the hexes and wheel nuts to see if it makes this issue go away, just wondering If I'm the only one who experienced this?

.What I found was that the O.D. of the hub thread and the I.D. of the wheel nut each wore enough that it was possible for the threads to skip when tightened up. I noticed this as the wheel nut had a lot more side to side slop (think hula hoop) than the new hub / nut had, but viewed individually they looked fine. Anyway I must have taken my wheels off too many times
to clean tires over the course of a year and a half, causing the threads to wear down.

I agree with everything Eric. Great race, well ran, and excellent track conditions. Those three tekno guys were amazingly helpful. I left knowing I had a better EB48.2 thanks to them.
Well, I had the opportunity to meet John, Matt, and Lutz over the weekend at the Badlands here in SC. Great crew of guys. I've meet a number of the big names over the years, but hadn't yet me Lutz. Let me tell you what, this dude is definitely what the hobby should be about for most of the big sponsored guys. Helping out, volunteering, and probably one of the fastest turnmarshals out there regardless of it's the F main, kids class, or otherwise. I always thought it was a good idea after Tekno brought him onboard, but even more now watching his presence and attitude at the track. You can see the big tekno area they had setup across the track.
Some of the mains had brutal starts (mine included having lap times nearly double what it should be due to people not playing it safe and hammering down), but a great event in general. Surface is a clay/dirt/sand mixture and the majority of it was blue groove in a matter of hours. There was also minimal dust, no matter how many were running on it. Definitely will be back again next year.

kinda bummed last night i was finishing up my eb48.2 kit and one of the servo saver posts was cross threaded. Gotta wait til monday now for the replacement parts to show up. I will say this it does look different from most buggies with the narrow body.
