I have a eb48.2 on the way. What's a good starting setup? Stock springs work well?

Stock is good, especially the eb48.2. Make 1 adjustment at a time till you find what you like.

After reading some of the posts about airflow I thought I would throw this out there.

My Tekin 2050 was getting warmer than I wanted with the pinion I wanted to run at first. I simply opened up the two forward facing air scoops on the right side of the stock body and it allowed enough air in to drop my temps. If I remember right, I saw about 20 degrees of temp drop.

Just in case someone hasn't thought about it.

Airflow will definitely help. I sometimes cut openings in windshields and then shoo goo in some mesh. That way you get a ton of air but will still keep most dirt out.

Can a MOD please add this as a sticky to the front of EVERY Tekno thread? I just made a list of all the screws, washers and nuts needed to convert a Tekno ride over to all aluminum screws. I listed the stock replacement Tekno screw part number first with details beside each. Only screws I did not list for an aluminum swap are the diff screws holding the ring/spur on to the diff. That's a high load bearing screw and steel is a better choice there.

Tekno Screw List:

Tekno #1523 3x10mm Flat Head 2
Tekno #1529 3x20mm Cap Head 20
Tekno #1341 4x6mm Flat Head 6
Tekno #1525 3x14mm Cap Head 18
Tekno #1524 3x12mm Cap Head 10
Tekno #1333 3x40mm Flat Head 4
Tekno #1327 3x16mm Flat Head 4
Tekno #1443 4x10mm Button Head 11
Tekno #1522 3x8mm Cap Head 9
Tekno #1445 4x14mm Button Head 6
Tekno #1447 4x16mm Button Head 2
Tekno #1401 3x6mm Button Head 8

I wouldn't recommend using aluminum screws everywhere. They are just plain ole too soft.

I actually wouldn't recommend using the aluminum screws at all unless you have high quality wrenches (mip) and know the car well. Its hard to stress how soft aluminum is.

I always prethread all holes with steel screws to prevent stripping the aluminum screws.

Yeah I'll pass on the aluminum screws. I have used them before and they snap easy. And Redbeard is right you have to have good set of wrenches or they strip. Actually they will strip anyway if you over tighten them.

+1

Also, they can be used in low stress areas with no problems at all. (i.e. reciever box cover, nerf bars, etc..)
