A little Mothers Aluminum Polish on a rag works great, I chuck up one tip of the shaft in a drill and they come out looking better than new.

Not a great day at the track for me yesterday, I left in an ambulance after fully breaking my ankle, slipping on the dirt while marshalling.

I never thought it would happen to me, and especially not this bad, the memory of the angle my foot was in is not a good one.

Looks like I'll be out for a while now.

Take care out there when marshalling, you don't want the cars to hit you or to fall over.

damn sorry to hear that happen to you. Hope you get back on your feet soon, no pun intended.

I took a truggy to the face at a race years ago. I was surprised I wasn't knocked out but did race the rest of the day. Hindsight I probably had a concussion and surprised I drove home (1.5 hrs one way).

My brother slipped and broke his ankle last year but it was more like a bad sprain, he kept racing and drove to hospital after. I broke three bones with a complete dislocation so looking at surgery today hopefully.

I really didn't think it would happen to me.

Ouch. Be careful out there guys.
I got hit square in the knee by a Truggy a few years ago. Fell numerous times. And am lucky no serious injuries. I think we've all seen mishaps at the track and feel like it wouldn't be me.

sorry to hear you got hurt so badly. Marshaling can be dangerous. A couple of months ago, a marshal was hit by a buggy while marshaling another one. Broke her ankle.

Sorry to hear, get well soon. We run 1/8 buggy indoors in the winter, have to keep your eyes open for sure.

with the way some tracks are setup, it can make the problem worse if its a high speed section or a badly thought up jump that doesn't give the driver the ability to really look out for the marshalls.

And drivers who yell at marshalls on the stand don't help matters either. If we marshalled 1/5 scale like we do 1/8 and 1/10, you might see someone get killed out there.

Yea hate to hear of anyone getting hurt. It's not just a matter of watching yourself when on the dirt, but for drivers to be patient and not be obnoxious and yelling at marshals etc. pushing people past their limits.

One thing I'm really trying to get people to buy into is that you never drive your car between a marshal and the side of the track he is coming from. Should be common sense for anyone that wants to avoid getting tired up in a wreck, but too many times I see marshals getting hit in the ankles are falling down due to inconsiderate racers. If everyone did this marshals would not have to wait for traffic to clear to flip your car knowing they have a safe path between the pipe and the car.

If you have a old style shock body you'll need to use a flat spacer on the top not in the middle.

I used one of the flat delrin guides at the top and substituted an older (black plastic) guide in the middle as I thought I'd see better results by using the flat delrin guide on top. I'm still using two flat guides in the old style shocks, but preferred using the flat delrin guide on the top instead of the middle. Is there a reason the flat delrin guide would work better in the middle than up top?

Nope, just wanted to make sure you weren't trying to use the .2 top spacer.

Got my buggy torn down for a slight refresh. Waiting on the mail for the black washers and a few assorted goodies. Finally had to change a bearing in the rear hub. Love how long the stock bearings are lasting. A nice change from the original serpent 811 nitro that I ran before. That thing was death to bearings.
Does anyone run the original non xt a_arms. I just changed mine all out and notice that they all had a slight bend to them. Going to save them for emergency backup duty anyway.

The original arms are a little more brittle and have different shock mounting locations for the outer holes.

I still run the original a-arms. They seem to work well enough for me to use up the stock I have.
