That setup has taken a number of Speed Passion drivers to A Mains at large events.

I ran the red board all the way over and it felt like it needed more. I was running the green board in my old non mmm motors and wasn't sure if the same would work. Thanks for the help Nexus.

What board does it come with? In 17.5 blinky, how does this motor compare to other motors, like the trinity d3.5?

Of course this is a Speed Passion thread so you might think posts are biased I can double check, but the 17.5 ships with a red board.

In any case, the Speed Passion 17.5 is plenty fast in 17.5 buggy. A number of our drivers have won or made A Mains using this motor at large events running against D3.5s, Orions, Reedy, and others.

Here is a short video I took of Cody Meiferdt running his B4.2 and a SP 17.5 (green and white buggy). He is the 2nd car out of the box. If I remember correctly Cody was the 2nd qualifier. The TQ left early and Cody won later in the main. Many of the other cars in this video and A Main are running D3.5s.

I also just purchased a 17.5 Champions Edition combo with the 3.0 motor and Reventon R esc. I put this in a 2wd DESC210R (blinky), and have done a bit of testing. I am geared at a FDR of 7.5 (75 spur;26 pin) and am looking for a little more torque. Am i better off backing the timing back to the middle, or 0, and doing this with gear? I know my Tekin stuff like less motor timing and more gear... is Speed Passion the same, or does it prefer less gear and more timing?

ps. with the 7.5 fdr and max can timing, I am in the 140* range after 5 min.
thanks!

Keep that motor timing and gear more....our driver using the MMM 17.5 motor, using the red board go all the way to the right (20*) and gear @ 30/70 on B4.2..

You should buy a red board and crank it to the right, and gear more. If you want to try the current 0-10 board, you need alot more gear.

On my Stock Club Race esc (blinky only) the orange is solid and the red is blinking.

Hi,

Did not know about this thread, so I've probably posted in the wrong thread ... (On road)
When I post as well as my question here too :-)

Purchased just before Christmas from RC Mart Speed Passion Reventon Pro 1.1 Brushless ESC w / Competition Motor V3 6.5R.

Mounted it in my B44, 2, and everything seemed ok for a few rounds.
I think I programmed it to "Stock1", has certainly reverse and brake ...

Suddenly it stops and the motor just slowly forward even if I do not give any throttle.
I turn the ESC off and on, so does everything seem to be fine for a few minutes or seconds...
Have tried several batteries, another motor, turning off temp and low voltage protection without result.
I have also tried a fresh installation without result...

Think it's easier if you look at the video I posted at Youtube. The error occurs one minute into the video.

It seems like I'm not allowed to link to other sites

odd... could it be a bad sensor wire?

Also, with the lazer blue Reventon R in blinky.... is the only blinking light actually UNDER the esc? had stock 0 selected, and once i had the lights off, i could see a faint blink under the esc. Is this the only place this is indicated? has anyone had an issue at the track with tech, as far as the light not being visible in normal condition?

the combo also came with a 17.5 3.0 motor.... is this motor noticeably slower than than the 17.5 MMM? does the MMM come with a 20* timing board? just curious if the differance is enough that i should purchase an MMM before the points season starts, or if the 3.0 will be competitive the way it is. Thanks!
